Made it home a few hours ago and after dinner and a couple errands I have found a few minutes to share our "Hammercruise" report. We got into Louisville around 3 on Saturday. We checked into the hotel and then walked around the city. We wanted to check out a place for dinner and find out how far of a walk the boat was. Ashley went for a swim and than we all got showers and ready to head out. Our first stop was Hard Rock Cafe. While we were waiting for our food we gave Ashley a lesson in Rock and Roll. Not sure if she appreciated it. We then walked back to the boat. I think we arrived around 8 and there was already a line. No...it didn't surprise me. We could here the sound check outside...and it was kinda cool. And than the line started moving. We got inside the boat and got the closest spots we could find. The boys were finishing up their sound check...boy they sounded great. Unfortunately Ashley and I couldn't see over everyone so we decided to try to find a seat. It is amazing how many TALL Hammerheads there are. Greg didn't' have a problem seeing...never thought 7-8 inches was a big deal...but in this case it was. HammeredHam did a great job spinning the tunes...loved everything he played. Before we knew it the boys were back. Except for a small break the guys played rest of the night. Got to hear a couple of new tunes. The night was full of energy and it seemed like everyone was having a great time...well almost everyone. Ashley was devastated that she couldn't see and gave up. Kept trying to tell her she had to suck it up and make some fun of her own. But what does Mom know. The music was fabulous and we look forward to seeing everyone's pictures.

Hi everyone!
Just got back home about an hour ago. Right now trying to eat dinner and download pics off of my camera. As bostongirl said, we were right up front with NancyD, CherryTattoo and a couple of other folks - but back about 4 ft from the front of the stage. They kept pushing people back and then moving them forward and then pushing them back. LOL. They had to try and keep a space clear for the guys to walk to the stage - there was no backstage to come out of!
OMG! I just looked at my camera. It's finished downloading and I have over 200 pictures from last night! This is going to take some time!
Like Bostongirl, I got my first mic moment. It was sooooo cool when Marty came down and put the mic in my face. To tell you the truth, until she mentioned SAAA, I couldn't for the life of me remember what I was singing! ;D ;D ;D
Bostongirl, it was fantastic meeting you. Hammeredinfrogtown, I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you.
The show was amazing - one of the best I've ever been to. And that might have to do with the fact that I was front and center with a clear view to all of the guys (except for some pesky mic stands!)
I love these small shows - the guys seemed so relaxed and playful. They were having a great time.
I got a pic with Marty after the show, outside. I didn't bother trying to go up to the guys this time - I've had my moments in the past.
Hubby and I were exhausted after the show and went back to our room. Found out in the morning that a lot of people went out the bars and partied ALL night! Hope to hear some of their stories.
As soon as I get a few of these pics cleaned up in Photoshop I'll come back and post pics. (Hint - I was close enough to get some great closeups!)

I don't know how I could have forgotten this. Marty asked the kids to come up front, so they were on the floor in front of the stage. On young boy was really rocking out with the songs, and Marty invited him up on stage. He sang all of the song with Marty and Marty was just having a great time with him. During Ultrasound, he brought another little boy up who had dislocated his shoulder. Dispite this, the boy was having a wonderful time on stage. Then, at the end, during Trees, Marty came down off the stage and bent down in front of this little girl and let her sing a line from Trees. It was so amazing! And yes, I have pics of all 3 kids. I tell you, short term memory loss is horrible. I do not remember the set list, or what happened during what song - but during one song Marty went out into the crowd and was Moshing around with them!

Bostongirl, I am so excited for you! Thanks for the wonderful review. I love hearing about fans' first shows. I was lucky enough to attend the soundcheck last night. What a treat that was. It was fun to get a behind the scenes look into all that goes into setting up and checking the sound and equipment. We got to watch each member test their instruments and mics, then they played together. I think my favorite part was when they played "Used to Love Her" by Guns N' Roses. I think we and the band were all surprised when at a couple minutes after 9pm, with soundcheck still going, the crowd came pouring in toward the stage. It ended up being pretty cool though, having all these people suddenly there to rock out to "Eyes Can't See." After the band left the stage, I decided not to stake my place upfront, and instead went to get a drink, mingle with fellow fans, and enjoy a few minutes out on deck. It was such a beautiful evening, and I just wanted to take in the clear night sky, the calm water, and all the lights from the city sklyline. I went back downstairs when the band took the stage...I think it was a little after 10pm, and they played over 2 hours with just a short break. I did not keep track of the setlist either, but I think Bostongirl pretty much covered it. I especially loved hearing some songs I'd never seen them play live before...Undertow, Morphine, Starlight Lady, Summertime in the City. And the Carribean jam they did leading up to Ultrasound was just so cool! My friends told me Marty at first sang "Why are we alive?" in Spanish, but I missed that somehow. And I absolutely loved the new songs Marty played for us. I cannot wait to hear more! I've been lucky to see lots of LH shows over the past year, but what a wonderful evening this was...the soundcheck, seeing all the friends I've made along the way, and an absolutely amazing show. As always, I can't wait to see them again!

Hammer Cruise was fantastic! At the Friday Meet and Greet, I won the Aussie Fans’ Gift Bag, and now I am addicted to Tim Tams! The show on the boat was so good. The highlight for me was the Carribean style version of Ultrasound. I tried taking some pictures, but I could tell they weren’t coming out so I just enjoyed the show. I didn’t hang around afterwards because my husband and I were leaving early the next morning. Ironically, soon after we went back to the Marriot, the fire alarm went off in the hallway and a loud speaker told everyone to evacuate the building! We trudged down five flights of stairs with everyone else (my feet were still killing me from standing during the show), and when we got down to the street level, the fire engines were all around. People coming down from the seventh floor were saying that there was smoke in the hallway. At about 3am they let us back in, saying that someone had discharged a fire extinguisher in the hallway as a prank, and the fumes set off the smoke detector. I can’t believe how many women went into the street with short, flimsy nightgowns (young and old alike). How hard is it to throw on a pair of jeans and a jacket when you know you are going outside? Anyway, I should have just stayed at the boat!

Shy & klees, it was great meeting you. Shy - I'm sorry we didn't get to talk more - I would love to talk graphics with you some day! Klees - You must have had a great time at soundcheck! You got some good pics. I've gone through some of mine and picked out a few to tide you over - the rest will probably trickle in over the next few days (or weeks). Enjoy!
