We were at the Liquid Lounge last night to see the show.
I don't go to Brantford much (no reason to really) so I mapquested some directions to the bar..........found it ok.
It is a little hole in the ground with a big reputation and it is tucked away behind a few nondescript sidestreets.....we almost drove by it it's so inconspicuous.
The sign outside said 'Park at your own risk'........kinda worried me considering I was driving the Chrysler 300.......
So we got there at 7:30pm........there were 5 people in the bar........one of 'em was drunk and loud.........the entire bar (including washrooms.....''kitchen''.......2 pool tables.......and the stage) are no bigger than my main floor..........
We sit at the bar and buy our tickets for $20 bucks a pop and ask what time the show starts........
"Around 10:30pm" she says matter of factly...........
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We knew it was gonna be a loooong night..........we told the sitter we'd be home by 12am............Yikes.............!!!!
We ate right at the bar..........had a couple drinks........and stared lovingly into each others eyes for the next three hours........ [img src="

FINALLY.........people started showing up........
QUICK STAT - Ratio of girls to guys - about 8 to 1 - !!!!!!!Sean Cotton walks in and we mistake him for the Raisin Bran lumberjack Danny McGee (he looked like he needed two scoops.........or maybe he already had two too many)..........he was awesome on vocals and lead guitar.
I saw a little girl walk in and wondered why someone in their early teens was in a bar.........OOPS!!!!!.........it was Patrice.........man is she TINY!!!
Tara came in as well as the rest of the Sean Cotton Band.
QUICK FACT - Marty tells us the reason for going to the Liquid Lounge was due to the fact that the Sean Cotton band used to be the house band. Our man Marty comes in with his head down breezing by everyone in his trenchcoat...
.....impossible to tell it was him.......NOT!!
He comes back out and immediately starts working over the girls...........in a nice way..........
I walk by and he recognizes me.......pulls me into the convo with a 'HEY MAN' and a hand shake. I tell him ALL the Mods send their love. [img src="

I tell him we're at the end of the bar (didn't want to give up our front row stools) and to come over and say hi to My Wife (girlgonewild) later.
So he does.........what a guy. We talked for a long time about many things.........HammerJam.......Chicago......new material..........new cd........the video.........Suzy......Billy.......promo for the Christmas song (next year)......our families.......his agent......New Years........the site........the fans.......the BT show.........Healey's.......and Helen (and her animals).......and a few other things I'm sure I shouldn't be saying anything about (at least until I confirm the info).
Marty was totally impressed with the fact that my Wife ditched work to go to the show............
I told him Cindy wanted pics............and I was the official 'unofficial' photographer.........for whatever that was worth........
No sign of Josh anywhere........all night.......dunno if he showed (we had to leave at around 1:45am).........
The show started at 10:50pm
Patrice sang first (two songs).......then Tara (two songs).........then Marty comes on and does Take me out and Wish You Were Here..........AWESOME!!!!!!!
The stage was about 40 square feet (if that) and had five people, drums, speakers, amps, and guitars on it and he totally worked every inch of the damn thing............Marty was right at home........he told us earlier that these were the places that the Lovehammers thrived on and grew up and matured with...............AWESOME!!!!!
QUICK FACT - while the bar WAS crowded I would guess there was still less than 100 people there...........the whole night was up close and personal. The Sean Cotton Band was incredible.........nailing every song.
The rockers took a half hour break and came on again at 1:00am.
Two songs each again..........Patrice was on a table for part of one song..........MAN........I was totally impressed with her..........more so than when she was on the RS show.
Marty came on and did Mr. Brightside(during this song he STOPPED playing and yelled jokingly?? at a guy who was yelling in his girlfriends ear right in front of him.....lmao............man did that guy shut up fast.........Marty didn't miss a beat though and kept on playing), Trees, and Merry merry Christmas...........Marty was also on the tables during Trees......and the floor of the stage.....(not sure how he managed that)......
Despite being aggressive in the picture area (I told a few people I was representing the site (hope that's ok Cindy and Amy))..........I still had a hard time due to the size of the bar. Some turned out ok........some are kinda weird.........and some totally suck.......... ;D...........ah well.......
All photos have been sent to Cindy for posting.
I knew there would be encores but we had no choice but to cut out...........It was getting close to 2am and it would be around 3:30am before we got home.
I walked up to the stage after he had finished the Christmas song........grabbed Marty by the arm....(no he wasn't pissed).......and let him know we had to go.......we shook hands again and he thanked us for coming.
I wished him all the best and we left.
Here again is the set up to the point that we left.......I'm sure Cindy or Amy can get Marty to fill in the last few songs.
Take Me Out
Wish You Were Here
Mr. Brightside
Trees
Merry Merry Christmas (All Year Long)
Here is one of the pics I took..........
