News Bulletin: Dan Howard, tour manager for Marty Casey and Lovehammers was given honorary title of Mouseketeer Saturday night during his birthday celebration. Dan, a longtime fan of the Mickey Mouse Club, has often daydreamed of joining the club with his long time idles Justin and Britney. When asked to comment on his new title Dan replied, “Thanks, but I am NOT wearing this hat”. Congratulations Dan.

I also want to give a review of the shows because it means so much to me when i was the one sitting at home. I have some pics i will try to post later, but i am just learning this new camera so it may take a while.
Marty Casey - Solo Acoustic. Something to behold. One man sitting on a big stage with a guitar. When Dave Navarro told marty on Rockstar just to stand there and let everything come out through his voice, he was genius. There are few words to describe it. Lovehammers is an amazing band. Marty Casey solo is a phenomenon that is rare. He voice was strong, beautiful, and every bit of his heart and soul came out through it when he stands still. It takes your breath away. I truly hope that every marty Casey fan gets to see at least one Solo Acoustic show. It is an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.
The Bourbon Street show was a performance to behold. Marty filled a large room with his presence and voice. His new hair and new style of clothes is so different and gorgeous. He looks alot younger and as always has found his own unique look. He came out with his hat, black jacket and vest, no shirt, his greay scarf, and stripe pants, funky shoes/boots with the pants half tucked in. What a look. Soemtime during the show the jacket came off. The show was an hour and half late getting started but Marty was in a really good mood and very animated and chatty.
He told alot of personal stories, far more detail and personal than i have seen in the past. Made each song mean something special. Hold On acoustic is the best version i have ever heard. He told the entire story and you could tell he was reliving the experience. Just Go (aka as Kick It) for me is probably his best piece of work yet - IMO. He told us the story behind it which made it hard to watch him perform it. You know when he takes that long gulp at the end of a song, that he was reliving the emotion. He sang Creep, I alone, Clouds, WYWH, Trees, Hold On, BHMOMT, Diamonds in the Dirt, Just Go, Hold On, and Driving Blind. I know there were others and the set list will show up.
There were 5 new songs at all the shows Hopes and Fear Collide, Just Go, Diamond in the Dirt, My Kind of Wine, and Skinny White Guiatar Player. I am hoping the last 2 end up on a LH album. And i am really hoping for a MXC album this coming year with the other songs. Marty has taken the music and the stories to a new level if you can believe it could get even better.
At the meet and greet he stood in the middle of the room and many new fans and old lined up to say hello. No kidding, he hugged every single one of them. At one point, a big burly guy put his hand out for Marty to shake, Marty shook it and then threw his arm around the guy and gave him a big hug. The guy was stunned...i lmao....it was so funny. I do not think he stopped smiling for a moment. He seems so comfortable and happy in this type of setting. As if he has been on his own forever. He won over many new fans.
I know this does not replace being there but i hope that i gave you a little insight to a very special experience and i wish all his fans the same experience. He took my breath away.

Thanks, Liz and Janet. Those reviews were great. Such an intimate setting. I do hope he does more solo acoustic shows, especially of the new material. I wonder if those are actually new Lovehammers songs, or just Marty's?

I was at this show. Theres not much that I can add. It was the first time seen him. He blow me away with his performance. He sounds much better live and looks like his enjoying been solo for a while. I wish I have seen him before with the Lovehammers to compare the shows. This show was an intimate and intense show. I'm glad I had the oportunity to see him in this solo tour because it gave a chance to really apreciate his voice and to find out that his not just gorgeous or that he can sing but also that his a great human being. He was very aproachable and laughing a lot. Also it was nice to meet some of you guys. I will try to post some pics.

Bourbon Street…I know some others there have posted reviews so I really don’t want to reiterate the same info. But if I do repeat, I apologize ahead of time. This was a show I knew a lot of fans would be attending and so I was prepared for a larger crowd. The venue was a bit different than the first in it had a smaller stage area, and a dance floor between the stage and tables where the fans would be. Now the show got off to a late start, Marty was slotted for 9:30, but didn’t make it on till at least 11:30pm, so I was a bit worried new fans would be a bit on edge after waiting for so long, but in true form of Marty and LH fans, everyone was patient. I’d say the only difference in us having to wait was we were all a bit drunk than we would have been, lol. Marty seemed a bit more comfortable this night, being very playful with the audience. When he asked if anyone had any questions one girl said “this isn’t a question but I love you” and he looked at her smiled and said “I love you more”, you could see the girl just melt. This was the show where we had the anniversary couple (seen in pics above) and as I had mentioned earlier that was such a great moment. And also we celebrated Dan’s b-day as you also saw. Both were such great moments. I also love that Dan was actually a big part of my show experiences; he is such a great guy. This was also the show that we mentioned we had the full frontal flash , it was pretty funny and Marty once again just rolled with it . He seemed to be having so much with the fans. Songs as I can remember them were; Mr. Brightside, Call of Distress, Just Go, Diamonds to dirt, Driving Blind, Creep, I alone, WYWH, HBOMT, Trees, Tunnel, Clouds, The Riddle, Happy Birthday. As the close of the show, Marty did his meet & greet until every last fan was met, hugged, chatted to, pics taken and items signed. Wow!!!

It sounds like you guys had such a fabulous time. These small intimate shows are such a great way to get to meet Marty. I hope there were a lot of new fans there too.
