So far, I spoke with the venue and they said- that doors open at 8:00, the show is at 10:00, and they will be selling tickets at the door, not in advance- and..they have not yet set a price for the show. FYI

Any idea if this is an all ages show? This is a possibility, but Bourbon street is a definite.

This is a brand new venue. Just opened two weeks ago. That may be why they aren't doing advanced sales.

Marty will be performing December 6, 2007 at Coconut Jack's Beach Club in Ocala, Florida !!!!

He will be doing a meet and greet with everyone !!!

Tickets go on sale this week .

$15 in advance
$18 at the door

Ladies drink free until midnight.

Also, Coconuts is a 21 & up establishment, and their capacity is 735. They have a full stage, lights, and sound. Also full liquor bar. Plenty of parking and an outside tiki deck.

Woo Hoo!!! YC, called me this morning, Sounds like it was a wonderful evening! She gave me two cellcerts of Hold On and WYWH which sounded perfectly, as if he was singing directly into the phone.

Overall tour Review!

Now how were the shows going to go? I can say I was beyond excited to see Marty perform, (that goes without saying) but I also had to try to keep an open mind knowing that this wasn’t LH and would be a completely different experience. Boy was I right about that! Now, I love Marty’s performances during his big shows with LH, love the action, and animation he brings to his shows, but I must say one of the things that I fell in love with on Rockstar was his ability to deliver a song, standing there, using his, voice, eyes, and intense emotion. Quickly it became apparent that this is what these shows were about; it was all there. As Marty would sing, you could feel the goose bumps forming on your arm. He would look into the audience and connect with each and every person there. Between songs, Marty would give a story or background to his songs, and shared stories about things that happened on the show. Marty really showed off his sense of humor during the shows as well, and has a great gift to roll with the punches sort of speak.

Show Time...

The first show on the agenda was the Ocala show @ Coconuts. The venue was a large capacity and had a large stage for him, which as an LH fan you are grateful, because we know how much Marty likes to utilize every inch of a stage. In this show and the 3 others that followed this wasn’t the case. As Dan came out and began to set up the stage it became apparent that it was strictly Marty, two bar stools and his guitars. Not long after Dan got things set up, one of the guys from the venue got on stage for some “Marty Casey trivia”, in which the winner would win tickets to a New Years Eve show they had at the venue. Now I’m very much a behind the scenes person so I did not go on stage and participate, but enjoyed watching just the same. For those of you who are familiar with the boards and users, Jenny From Sarasota won the trivia.

Now on to the show! The guy announced Marty and he comes from the back, dressed in his jeans, jean jacket, black hat and silver scarf. Ok, so I was skeptical about seeing Marty with his new haircut, I’m a long hair kinda gal, but OMG…Marty looked great!

Marty opened with Mr. Brightside and as I looked around at the faces in the audience, I could see the awe. Marty was spot on and I could tell this was going to be good. In between songs Marty would take questions from the audience, and also give a lead into the songs.

In no particular order the songs that night were;
Mr. Brightside, Creep (at my request), I Alone, HBOMT, Lithium, Hold On, Tunnel. Call of Distress, Just Go (or “Kick It” as I like to refer to it as, right Liz), and I think another new song (maybe Lisa could fill that on in, I think by the alcohol was affecting me, lol)

Marty had asked anyone brave enough to get on stage and be a back-up dancer for him was welcome, and a handful of ladies joined him on stage. As the night wound down, and Marty set up to do his meet & greet, I was surprised by the amount of people who jumped up and got in line. Marty took time with each and every fan, taking pics, signing items, and just being him. It was great to sit back and watch all the new fans he was making.

Did I mention this was the night ladies drank free??? ;D ;D ;D
