Small picture & sidebar?! This wasn't the interview Marty did, is it? I was hoping for a BIG spread on MC & LH.

It's actually an article on INXS. Marty is mentioned on a separate 1/4 page(?) side column, at the second, and last, page of the article.
"Second’s Chance
He may not be up there singing “Need You Tonight,” but RockStar:Inxs runner-up Marty Casey isn’t stuck standing in the wings, either. The 32-year-old former Chicago real estate agent has reteamed with his original band to release Marty Casey & Lovehammers on the Epic-Burnett label - and to serve as opening act for INXS on their North American tour. “It’s just been absolutely phenomenal,” says Casey, who took INXS’s advice and toned down his over-the-top stage antics during the competition. But has there been any internal rivalry among the Lovehammers now that Casey has retuned to them a star? “The show has made me feel more like the solidified leader of the band - they give me the reins,” he admits. Casey’s much more hands-off when it comes to the rest of his life. “All my stuff back home is in storage,” he says. “I live on the bus!”" People Magazine, February 13, 2006, Page 82
Followed my Mr. Casey’s picture, one from the CD photo shooting - in which he doesn’t have his black leather jacket on.

Any exposure to a national audience is ultimately good exposure for the band. So that's what's good about the People item.
But otherwise I am disappointed with this People blurb. It's just included as a sidebar to a long INXS article, therefore LH is barely mentioned and Marty is included more as an after-thought in the context of the article. I bet he talked to the reporter for several minutes and they then selected only three really minor quotes to include. Kind of a bummer.
But again, any national exposure that reminds people who Marty is and that he has a band and that they have a record out is ultimately a good thing.

I agree, since hearing that there was going to be something about them in "people" magazine i've been looking out for it... even though i live in Australia. I'm sure somewhere like Borders would have it because they do the whole imported thing. I guess it's a little disappointing that it's only a side bar article but hey it's still something, right?

As a Hammerhead I'm disappointed, but really it is great exposure on a publication that is widely read. Hopefully, it will reach a lot of Marty fans from the RS INXS days who haven't heard about the new album.

of course we want more -- but this is VERY good exposure for the band. In fact, I picked up the mag at Ohare airport on my way oot and thought to myself how pissed off JD must be that every time he is mentioned, Marty is mentioned too. hehehehehe

This is great PR for Marty and LH! People is a mainstream mag and it's unrealistic to expect that they wouldn't focus primarily on INXS. And you can always write to People and let them know that you want more on LH. It's a good way to get them to know how large LH's audience is.

Wendy, I was just thinking the same thing. We need some Letters to the Editor to say Thanks for mentioning MC& LH but we want more!!!
Trees, sadly -- I do tend to be the level-headed one. Except when in presence of a Hammer, it seems!
