MCLH review in Singapore's main newspaper

Sometime ago I approached a music journo about reviewing the album. 2 weeks ago I dropped off the album at the press. And here it is in this morning's The Straits Times Life! section under the "soundbites" column. The journo who reviewed it is Yeow Kai Chai. You can e-mail him at [e-mail].

The review is mainly good and our man got compared to U2!

MARTY Casey did not win the reality talent show Rock Star: INXS, but hey, the first runner-up is free of the INXS spectre that is sure to haunt winner J.D. Fortune.

Recently voted one of Chicago's eligible bachelors by the city's Chicago Magazine, sexy Casey has the credentials to make it bigger than being a greying pop-rock band's lapdog.

Certainly, on songs like Casualty and Straight As An Arrow, he rocks as hard as any of the white-rock snarlers (Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis) and does anthemic singalongs as superlatively as U2.

Granted it can get a little familiar after a while, but what's going for him is a rockin' heart-on-sleeve sincerity.

You know, I sent a message to Marty telling him about the review and he replied! I think it's so nice that he actually takes time to acknowledge our ST work and thank us.

I for one am glad that now more people in Singapore will know about the Lovehammers and hopefully will venture to buy the CD and come to appreciate the music.
