Reality TV “Rock Star” Marty Casey reports the only time he bemoans the loss of his anonymity is when he’s drunk INXS the night before!
Casey, who was a “Rock Star: INXS” also-ran, said one of the nastiest parts of being hungover is that fans seem to flock to him when he’s at his worst.
“Ugh, tangled hair, bags under the eyes,” the Lovehammers frontman lamented. “That’s when you get the most photo ops!”
Funny about that, isn’t it?
But tonight, the hunky one, who has been traveling by bus on the MSN “Rock Star” Tour, promises to be at his best when the Lovehammers headline the Paradise with Boston rockers Damone and MiG.
Although Casey credits his almost-successful stint on the CBS reality show for turning people onto his band, he thinks it’s his “high energy rock ’n’ roll” that keep fans coming back for more.
“I think initially (people) come to see me, but then they leave understanding what the Lovehammers are all about,” said the lead vocalist - who lost the coveted INXS frontman status to J.D. Fortune. “They just can’t believe that they’ve been missing out on the Lovehammers for all these years!”
Imagine that!
Casey, 32, and his bandmates - guitarist Billy Sawilchik, bassist Dino Kourelis and drummer, Bobby Kourelis - rolled into Boston yesterday aboard the tricked-out bus.
“This is our very first headlining tour and it’s been very exciting,” a revved-up Casey said. “You know, no one is just playing high energy rock ’n’ roll music these days. There are only three bands in the country that stay true to rock and they would be the Velvet Revolvers, Buck Cherry and the Lovehammers.”
“We put on a big show,” he added. “We’re going to blow your mind!”
The tour, which will take the hard-partying Lovehammers to Philadel.phia tomorrow, is a vehicle to promote Tommy Lee’s “Rock Star: Super Nova” and Rockstar.msn.com.
File Under: Getting Hammered.
