That Jessica is one weird DJ or whatever, she is definitely stoned or not with it, she is an embarrassment to that radio station.
I didn't realise Marty was so unhappy and had been for so long with the LH. He certainly didn't let it show. It was an interesting interview but it would've been a much better one if it had've been done with a more competent DJ.
Sorry if I offend any Jessica fans but this woman isn't very professional and it is just my opinion.

Yes, she was, um.......strange. I believe Marty did very well in spite of the chick interviewing him. It was good to hear him address the thoughts behind his decision and the reaction of fans.

Thanks to tinley, this is now posted on the News page of Marty's site. (Along with that Q101 Manno interview too). www.martycasey.com/news.htmI wasn't able to do anything with the sound quality.... but maybe you can hear it well enough.

Thanks for the link - it's made things clear from listening to the interview (I'm listening right now). I agree with Helen's comments about Jessica - very odd to listen to!

Thanks Tinley and Cindy. That was clearly a difficult interview to do and I appreciate very much that he did it. He sounded pretty exhausted, but he showed a lot of patience and understanding that his decision upset and disappointed many. We can't know everything going on in someone else's life and head - but I appreciate him trying to explain as much as he could about the pressures in his life and the state of mind that have pointed him to this new Guns project. I hope, as he does, that LH continues as well. Most of all, I hope he finds what's been missing - happiness, creativity - however he needs to find it. Everyone is entitled to that.

That DJ was not all there, I think! I'm glad he got to do this interview, though, and have his say. It was probably one of the most important ones of his life. Just wish the DJ had done it more justice, but Marty did a good job. Many thanks to everyone who worked to set this interview up, and for posting it here.

Just a comment or two about the interview! I personally think Marty did a great job with the interview, of course it could have been much better with an interviewer that wasn't smoking the funny stuff while working but, hey who are we to judge, right! ;D ;D I thought Marty took control of the interview as much as possible and tried to get his side of the story out there. It was informative as to his frame of mind and why he made the decision he made. I also thought there were some good questions being asked out on the "shout Box" I would have liked for her to ask him also, but alas, she was more focused on the fans commenting on her being laid back or stoned...or both. In my opinion, if fans look back, and read between the lines (either by pictures, videos, and his side jobs he was working on) you would see that what Marty is saying is true. He was looking for an outlet to be creative all along, that was no longer being filled working with the band. That doesn't mean anything against the guys, just that it was no longer working for him. My gut says, that although this is a sad split, and many have been hurt in the process, we have no idea what kind of doors this will open for all the guys. Lets all sit back and enjoy the new chapter of this unfolding book. YC

I am truly sorry that the quality of the interview is not the best. But that is how it sounded streaming from that station. In fact, Tinley's file to me is a bit clearer than it sound at my house when I was listening in live. I do wish we could get a complete transcript of it because I do believe if people heard what he was saying, they might understand better Marty's situation. If anyone would like to volunteer to type up a transcript, I would be happy to post it or at least the important questions and answers of it on his site.

Cool rockfan. I also just had an email from Sunse and she offered to help. Maybe you two can PM each other and do half each. It wouldn't take as long or as much work that way.
Whatever is decided, just send me the transcript at webmaster@martycasey.org and we will get it on the site.

Thanks for getting the interview posted. The DJ left something to be desired but at least Marty said what he needed to say.
I said it on the support thread and ycmey said it too. There are new adventures for all ahead. One door doesnt close without another opening and I think the possiblities are endless for all the guys. Time will tell. Sometimes what seems the worst thing in the moment turns out as a blessing down the road. I think I will keep and open mind and enjoy the ride.
Thanks to the site for all the amazing work you have done during this development.

Marty mentioned in this interview that he would be releasing something on the Web later that night. I feel totally out of the loop but does anyone know if he did and what it was?

BTW, the Dj sent in a copy of this interview that was a bit clearer than the one we had that was recorded streaming off the web. We have posted that copy now on the site. The new mp3 was recorded at the studio so does sound a bit better if you want to listen to it again.

We now have a transcript of this interview available to read on the news page of the site. Rockfan and Sunse have spent a great deal of time transcribing this (it was very hard to hear parts of it and it was a long interview to type up.) So thanks to those two ladies. It is not the entire interview but the main parts that discuss his recent decision and what he is currently working on. www.martycasey.com/news.htmI noticed when reading this that Marty mentioned he would be posting something later that evening to explain that this was not a sudden thing and how this decision was a long process. But after he reviewed what he was going to post, he decided he wanted to just to put it all to rest, not post it, and move on. He has said in this interview and on his earlier blog how he felt and why this change happened; so if someone reads this and the blog they should get a very clear picture of where he was coming from.

Special thanks to Rockfan and Sunse for taking the time to transcribe the interview. I know it was NOT easy - the audio was terrible.
I had no idea of how much I missed during the interview. Thanks for doing this!

Thank you Rockfan and Sunse! I listened to this live last Friday and I misunderstood quite a bit of what he was saying because it was so hard to hear.
