I wasn't going to comment on the announcement right now, but I changed my mind...
Artists grow and evolve PERIOD. If you don't...what's the point? I could tell his blog was difficult for him to write. I truly hope he's happy. I hope this opportunity presents him with everything he dreams of, but at the same time I hope that we will see more LH music and concerts in the future. At least I got to see them together once...even though it wasn't a full set...I just hope there will be more for LH down the road because I truly care about all the Hammers and all the Hammerheads.
Peace.

Hopefully not forever, but it may be different, GP. I'm not sure what this means for the Hammers, and I'm doing my best to patiently wait to hear something official from the other members of the band. Marty himself said he hoped there would be more LH music in the future in his blog. We'll just have to be patient to see what form LH takes now.
I too want to support Marty and I will do that in what ways I can. It is an amazing opportunity. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable at some of the venues it appears L.A.G. will be playing, but I may go to a show and give it a try. That's only fair to Marty.
I worry about him during this transition. Some of the L.A.G. faithful are ragging on him elsewhere before they've even heard him with the group. That's not fair and most definitely not cool. I know he can win them over. One was contending they didn't like him because they were a JD fan during RS:INXS...we know many JD fans have become Hammerheads as well in time. People need to remember RS is not indicative of Marty. The only original work he did on there was "Trees", and as a former Broadcast Journalism teacher I can say things can be cut any dang way the editor pleases at the editing bay...anyone can be made to look like anything in other words.
I hope this is a positive experience in which he learns a lot, grows, and perhaps comes back to LH refreshed and ready to rock us all again. Regardless, I love the other guys in this band just as much as Marty and I will support them too, whichever way this thing pans out. I'm a fan of all four, plain and simple.

True Cheza, very true. Urg, Rachael picked the best time to leave. I could really use a talk with her.
For me it's so....I can't even say it in words. I looked at the tour dates and there are 3 TX ones. I just feel so confused. I mean, it's a chance to meet Marty but I'd feel so out of place. I wouldn't know any of the songs and urg, I wish I could put in words what I'm thinking.

I know. There's only one L.A. Guns song I even remotely know - "The Ballad of Jayne"...love that one, but I have no clue about any of the others. There's even a date in Arkansas.
