THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE: "If you're going to kill each other, do it outside - I just finished cleaning!"
My mother taught me RELIGION: "You better pray that will come out of the carpet."
My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL: "If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"
My mother taught me LOGIC: "Because I said so, that's why."
My mother taught me FORESIGHT: "Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."
My mother taught me IRONY: "Keep laughing and I'll give you something to cry about."
My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS: "Shut your mouth and eat your supper!"
My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM: "Will you look at the dirt on the back of your neck!"
My mother taught me about STAMINA: "You'll sit there 'til all that spinach is finished."
My mother taught me about WEATHER: "It looks as if a tornado swept through your room."
My mother taught me how to solve PHYSICS PROBLEMS: "If I yelled because I saw a meteor coming toward you; would you listen then?"
My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY: "If I've told you once, I've told you a million times - Don't Exaggerate!!!"
My mother taught me THE CIRCLE OF LIFE: "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out."
My mother taught me about BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION: "Stop acting like your father!"
My mother taught me about ENVY: "There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do!"
THANKS, MOM !

A Novel Approach to Saving Money
Three engineers and three accountants are traveling by train to a conference. At the station, the three accountants each buy tickets and watch as the three engineers buy only a single ticket.
"How are three people going to travel on only one ticket?" asks an accountant.
"Watch and you'll see," answers an engineer.
They all board the train. The accountants take their respective seats but all three engineers cram into a restroom and close the door behind them. Shortly after the train has departed, the conductor comes around collecting tickets. He knocks on the restroom door and says, "Ticket, please."
The door opens just a crack and a single arm emerges with a ticket in hand. The conductor takes it and moves on.
The accountants saw this and agreed it was quite a clever idea. So after the conference, the accountants decide to copy the engineers on the return trip and save some money (being clever with money, and all that). When they get to the station, they buy a single ticket for the return trip. To their astonishment, the engineers don't buy a ticket at all.
"How are you going to travel without a ticket?" says one perplexed accountant.
"Watch and you'll see," answers an engineer.
When they board the train the three accountants cram into a restroom and the three engineers cram into another one nearby. The train departs. Shortly afterward, one of the engineers leaves his restroom and walks over to the restroom where the accountants are hiding. He knocks on the door and says, Ticket, please."

3 friends die in a car accident and they go to an orientation in heaven. They are all asked, "When you are in your casket and friends and family are talking about you, what would you like them to say?
The first guy says,"I would like to hear them say that I was a great doctor of my time, and a great family man."
The second guy says, "I would like to hear that I was a wonderful husband and school teacher which made a huge difference in our children of tomorrow."
The last guy replies, "I would like to hear them say ... Look, He's Moving!

Billy Bob's pregnant sister was in a terrible car accident and went into a deep coma. After being in the coma for nearly six months, she wakes up and sees that she is no longer pregnant. Frantically, she asks the doctor about her baby.
The doctor replies, "Ma'am, you had twins! A boy and a girl. The babies are fine and your brother came in and named them."
The woman thinks to herself, "Oh no, not my brother... he's an idiot!" Expecting the worst, she asks the doctor, "Well, what's the girl's name?"
"Denise," says the doctor.
The new mother says, "Wow, that's a beautiful name! I guess I was wrong about my brother. I like Denise." Then she asks, "What's the boy's name?"
"Denephew."

I just kind of have to get this out. Lately I've felt that we've broken up as a family, or shall I say we're all not as close as we use to be. But that is understandable. We're all busy with reality, school, work, family, etc. And now with recent events it's made me realize how much this place means to me. I was scared to death to post here but when I did I felt that I was welcomed with open arms. As our family grew and expanded I felt even more loved. You ladies have helped me with all my teenage problems, from parents to school to the lack of a love life to never getting the chance to go to an LH concert. You have given me so many laughs that have helped me through good times and bad. You ladies have significantly changed my life. I feel that I have grown up so much in just a short time. We have witnessed tradgety and love in our time here. I guess what I'm trying to say is that no matter what happens I will forever remember my time here, and I will forever remember the people here. To those I don't know as well to the ones I love and care about to the ones that are my mommas of the board. I love and care for all of you and no matter what you will always have a special place in my heart even if times change. I just wanted to say, thank you. Thank you to everyone. Thank you to my wonderful friends, my family. I don't think I can express how much you mean to me and I thank you for putting up with all my crazy antics *aka my alto ego ME*, my problems, but most of all I thank you for being my friends and for being my family and a major part of my life.
In closing words I'd like to say "Drink up me hearties yo ho."

GP thank you for the post I too have struggled about all this but have been trying to just put light to it. I know I don't post often on all the threads but i've made some friends here at org. I will still check in to see how you are all doing and respect everyone here w/their opinions and support of Marty. Yes Marty is the reason i know of LH's but i'm still struggling over this because i'm a LH fan and have love for each and every one of them. I just hope time will heal and everyone can still enjoy each others friendship no matter what board we post or who we support. now as for the cookie matter GP.........may the best woman win

GP, I know I haven't been around here much, either. You guys do so much late posting that I'm not around then. I miss the old posting parties in the middle of the day here - but it's been a long time since those have happened.
The family is still there - just a little more spread to the wind. Keep looking, I'm sure you'll find everyone. Hope to see you more at the store, too. #hugs#
