Hi all! I didn't know if you were still here or not. I went to a Writers' Retreat this week and we published an anthology of our work on site. It's not for sale per se, but I can get extra copies for anyone who is interested...I'll just have to give Deanna a heads up. It ended up being almost 60 pages in length between all of us. I have four pieces in the anthology along with a photo. What is cool is that we retained all rights to the works in there, so if I want to try to sell some of the work I generated this week I can. I posted a poem or two over in the Got Poetry thread. I didn't put one, "The Red Seductress", into it though. There were about 15 of us at the retreat. It was so much fun. I can't wait to do it again next year. I'm lucky to have somit like that held in my hometown so I don't have to travel. Oh... okay. Now I have the details. That is so cool!! I'm interested in buying it. How do I do that???

Night U, Lisa (I'm okay...), and GE...*was reading back*
RRRRRRRRRRRRRJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ! At the retreat they publish a book of all our works. It's exclusive - each author gets one and the museum keeps one for posterity - but some of my work is in print tonight and in other people's hands. I'm so excited!

I can get you one next week when I go back to the museum. I've got to order some extra copies for family. One of my pieces was a tribute to my Grandpa, and I think I'd like to get copies for his sister and both of my uncles...at least those three...so I can just add one for you to my request. Since she prints them the cost won't be much - just enough to cover the paper, ink, and comb binding.

One of the girls had a birthday today and her husband showed up last night at her sister's house and surprised her with a gift - a sign that says "Home is where the story begins" or something like that...he got it up town. I've got to get me one of those. I can make sure you see it

It's funny. I haven't been here in soooooo long. But it feels just the same. An anchor in a storm. I miss coming here. I've been a bit of a workaholic in the past 2 months. As soon as I withdrew from university and started working, I found myself working full time. I hadn't planned it that way. Was going to start at 3 days a week. But I'm having a blast and enjoying the fairly fat paycheque. Well, at least compared to the life of a student. I've worked so many 10 hours days in a row, I'm dizzy. I'm not working tomorrow though - so I decided to drop in.

Thanks, Klees! I'm exhausted from doing the final edits on my pieces, but it is SO WORTH IT. I'm signing up for next year's retreat with Dr. Lamm if at all possible. Ironically he's heading up to the Chicago-land area for the rest of the summer at least - he's going to be working at Notre Dame. His feedback along with Donna's was invaluable. The retreat is held each summer if anyone is interested. For more info: hemingway.astate.edu/news.htmlI can't remember how much the retreat costs (school is paying mine - I got professional development hours doing something I enjoyed - imagine that! Thirty of the sixty I need), but it is worth every penny. They serve lunch on site, so you don't have to be out additional money for it each day, and there are so many great spots to go to write at the museum.

G'night girl. Sweet Dreams.
It is still our anchor in the storm because of all the great friends we have made here.
Peace.
