Lisa - you are a very gifted photographer. I always look forward to seeing your pictures. You have an eye for catching truth and I love, love, love your black and whites.
I have started writing in the past 6 months. I just was waking up in the middle of the night with words and ideas that were important for me to capture. Not sure why. Mostly comes out as either lyrics and poems. When I re-read it, I have admiration for those brave enough to share their private thoughts and feelings with the world.

I express myself through music.....I love to play the piano and I try (try being the operative word) to write poetry.

You are all so amazing! Your range of creativity and interest is wonderful. I myself do not have a creative outlet....this leaves me appreciating yours all the more. The pottery is beautiful, the jewlery is gorgeous and the stories are intriguing and the confidence that you must have to dance when you feel inspired to dance. Do I need to point out how breath taking the photography is? Amazing!!!!!! Amy the candles are beautiful. Cheers to you all.

Great thread, I love learning about all of our many talents I paint - houses for a living, but I find when I am looking for something fun to do, I always grab my paints and start a new project at home. I don't do realism, color is my thing. I have been in a green phase for a year or so, so much so that I painted the outside of my house a kelly green over the summer - by "I" I mean my husband, hee hee. But I did the front door: and here is a painting I did - also in the green phase: I grew up studying dance, and I teach yoga, which lets me be creative in combining my love for both dance and spirituality. I write...mostly journal entries and concert reviews, but I am starting to work on bigger projects and would love to write my own music, which brings me to my other love which is singing. Outside of high school choir, I have never actually been a singer, but the future can bring anything... I love to learn any kind of art or craft and am a do it yourself-er at heart, and I find grumbling for hours while learning to tile AS I tile my bathroom a very creative process...anything is a creative expression if your mind is in the right place

Wow, you guys are sooo tallented!!! I was one of the ones that voted for Writing, Music & Art, I want to major in Photography or Graphic Design (mostly graphic design), and I'm headded off to college next year! [whoohoo -- not really.], but I absolutely love art forms of all kinds, I could kind of fall into the "other" category as well because I love doing things with mixed media. here are a few of the micellanious things that I've done, none of them are very "interesting" but it's something... < taken at the Powderpuff Football Game at my School... my friend is a huge fan of avril lavigne, so that's something i drew for her, one of the first times I tried to draw a "real" person haha < taken at Music Is Art 2006, TJ Zindle from Last Conservative I absolutely love seeing the artwork you guys do, it's very cool!!! -Christine

I thought a little more on this subject...i love writing and dancing. I studied modern, jazz, lyrical, and ballet in college for fun, but I never thought about it as a creative outlet, but I think it would be included.

I can't seem to vote in the poll, but I express my creativity by writing, drawing/painting, and somewhat musically (although my flute needs repair). I also love to do theatre work, whether it's backstage or on stage. Photography is probably the talent I'm known best for though. I used to work for the local paper and I've always had a natural knack for it. I'd like to take some courses someday. Hope I don't explode the room. I haven't posted many pics - just let me know if there is a preferred size...I shrank them down...maybe not enough though. The first is a photo collage from the 2004 Heritage Park Rod Run & SuperCruise which is held here each May. The pic on the upper left is the one my avvie was created from. I added a neon glow to it last fall for a professional competition and got second place: I'm thinking about turning this one into a sympathy card...this image just resonated with me very strongly and the rainbow was a double rainbow that stretched the entire width of the sky. Here's a cute little racoon who HONEST TO GOD POSED:

Here's three more of my pics. I decided to post them separately so I wouldn't blow anything up ! The first two you have seen as my avvies from time to time...the rose was on my mother's rose bush. I applied a lens flare effect to generate the photo I call "Backyard Beauty" - it took third place in a professional competition in MO. The second, although it looks like a peaceful retreat in the woods, is actually a dynamite shed that was owned by Paul Pfeiffer. If any of you know Ernest Hemingway's history you may remember his second wife was Pauline Pfeiffer, Paul's daughter. "Mr. Pfeiffer's Dynamite Shed" won me a first prize ribbon as well as Best in Show at the local fair. The final image is a concert pic I took a few years back at ShoutFest '04 in Paragould. The festival had to be moved inside and this was shot with film in a dark room, but it came out fairly well...it's a bit grainy (800 speed film)...but this is Michael Tait of the Christian band TAIT interacting with his fans.

I've always enjoyed writing and expressing myself through it. My writing often reflects how I'm feeling (or sometimes how I wish I felt) and usually my personal feelings and opinions about different things. I stick with writing fanfiction mostly, though I have written several novels when I was younger(both of which need a TON of editting). I've never been able to draw worth a hoot (I envy those who can draw!), so writing lets me express myself without the frusteration of trying to draw something nice. I also play the piano, and sometimes I feel nothing is better than just plopping down at the piano and pecking out a few notes. It's very relieving after a stressful day. Overall, music is very important to me. Though my singing skills lack somewhat, I enjoy getting deep into a song and just singing my heart out, regardless of who's listening. So yes, now I'm sure you know more than you like to about how I express myself. lol
