Hey everybody - I am very happy that you're all enjoying it. If any of you have a 5.1 sound system on your computer, let me know if it activates when you play the mp3. Mine did, and really surprised me as I didn't do anything for that!!!! It does give me an idea for a DTS 5.1 remix if I can figure out how to do it.
The MP3 has a slight "warble" to it which seems to be a result of the conversion process of getting into MP3 format. The master does NOT have this problem and if I knew a good way to get it out there, I'd do it. The master is also just a hair more "crisp" although this MP3 held it up pretty well.
I appreciate being asked to do this and it is my pleasure to give to everyone a gift of music. Now let's see what the, er, "intended recipient" has to say. As Tom Petty I think it was, sang, "The waiting is the hardest part".....

If only I knew what a 5.1 sound system was, or where to go look for it on my computer ;D ;D ;D HH- This has been a pleasure and some day when I grow up, I hope to learn what even some of your comments mean. Great work !!!! Boston No better time to start than the present! Typically a 5.1 sound system will have 5 speakers.....the regular front left and right stereo speakers, and then a "center channel" speaker that is often used for verbal dialog in a home entertainment system. Plus 2 more, a left rear and right rear for "surround". That's your "5". Then, add a subwoofer" and you have "5.1". A lot of newer computers can handle 6.1 and even 7.1............ It is a new take on an old idea, "multichannel sound". This never really caught on in the home setting back in the 60's and 70's because the technology for it was all analog and a pain in the neck, plus nobody could agree on a standard. One system couldn't play material made for the other system, etc. The meteoric rise of digital processing and companies like Dolby Labs as well as the THX standard for multichannel theater sound finally DID make it a reality, and the introduction of Digital Signal Processing AKA "DSP" into home stereo equipment along with the rise of the PC and Macintosh focused it all together into the home environment. Add to that the Compact Disc followed by the DVD and their digital technologies and you get superior sound reproduction capabilities for individuals that only a few years ago was completely out of reach for all but the most wealthy and for theaters. That's the "thumbnail sketch". The DTS people have been rather quietly remastering some rock albums from plain two-channel stereo into DTS 5.1 mixes and putting them into limited release. I have only two, both Paul McCartney, "Venus and Mars' and "Band on the Run". I'd call them a good start, as the effect of having stuff pop out all around you is like you were sitting right in the middle of the studio with Sir Paul while a song was being recorded, or like you were in the middle of the stage during one of his concerts. Neither of these albums was original recorded to take full advantage of the technology as it didn't exist at the time. Expect to see a LOT more such discs once they get their original mixes designed for DTS and also expect to be just utterly floored by the results. I can think of a band who might maybe want to think about experimenting with this and gettnig ahead of the curve, so to speak. Ya never know, could put them WAAAAY ahead of the rest of the pack. HH

I think I recall someone mentioning something about video at the start of this thing.....I wonder just what one could do..............HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.........(sound of gears grinding and wheels turning in head)
Awww, geez, somebody slap me silly. The young guy that did the Christmas video!!!!!!!! Now I wonder what HE would do with it? Pretty brilliant young man there if you ask me............why in the heck didn't I think of that before? ("Wow, I could have had a V8!" - true, but the 4-banger is more fuel efficient. ;D )

It doesn't show the download Option, Bostongirl. I think the bandwidth limit is for both playing and downloading.
