Have started this thread to keep you all up to date with the progress made be the Australian Street Team (AST) in spreading the Marty love and getting him known and loved by more Aussie fans.

We are a dedicated bunch and have many *honorary* Aussies helping us out from Asia, New Zealand, USA and Canada.

Will transfer some of our progress so far from the Aussie thread to let you know our progress. Be sure to check back often and see what we have up our sleeves!

Ok Aussie Team - time to kick some serious arse (and drink some serious chards)!! *chink*!

We have already driven Rachelle the journalist at the Herald Sun crazy with Marty requests, and she has informed us she may do an article on Marty and the boys when the CD is released here in Australia on Jan 24th. I'll put my hand up and compile a list of music journalists here in Melbourne over the next few days and their e-mail addresses - perhaps my drinking buddy Ingt could do the same for Perth newspapers, Dani for Adelaide, Deb and LaLa on the Gold Coast, Sheila in Sydney etc. That's all from memory so if I got your State wrong - I apologise ....but you get the drift. Gaia can do a list of music journo's from Singapore, Denise will handle the US....and Helen can handle Molly Meldrum (so to speak)!

Then we can start the e-mail sending. Likewise let's all do our State's radio stations - both e-mail and request line phone numbers.

Hi all,

As Lizzie posted above, this is our first effort to get MARTY known in Australia to the rest of the unknowing general public.

Looks like we finally convinced Rachelle a journalist from one of our major leading newspapers to do an article when the CD is released.

Below are some of our efforts, persistence in numbers works.

WE ARE JUST GETTING WARMED UP!!!

I have found an article in todays Herald Sun - page 109 in a column called Lip Service where two reporters have written a big article on Inxs and Rockstar Inxs. Both said they were huge fans of the show. I wish I knew how to post the damn thing...anyhow it may be worth it if we all e-mail them and ask them to check out the Marty Casey website with a view to giving him some publicity now or when the LH cd is released. The article is very JD focused - but who knows - they might have loved Marty as well. We'll soon find out.

The e-mail address is - Rachelle at [e-mail]. The other journo's name is Luke - but they have only listed his telephone number - and yes I'll try that on Monday. For those of us who want to phone and BEG for some Marty publicity - his number is [phone].

I'll shoot off an e-mail now. Ausgals unite - let's crank up the PR machine on this one!

I see by so many people who've emailed me from the Lovehammers website that Marty Casey is very popular indeed. I will keep that in mind, but can't promise any coverage since our column shuts down for two months over Christmas. I will do my best to talk about the CD release on the week of January 24th.

And since Singapore is rather small, I think all I need to do is e-mail like 5 journos and that about covers it

Seriously though, have been doing intelligence gathering on who's who in the entertainment media in Singapore so that I can hit them all at one go. Like what radioclash brought up in another thread in this section, there's nothing much to show for the band right now, at least in Singapore. The new album's not out yet; there's no confirmed news on the band coming to Singapore, as in no dates yet. What I can do is highlight this "gem" of a band as the one to watch for 2006 and the fact that they've been around for 15 years without anyone outside Chicago being the wiser. I'll give the MC.org URL as well as the fan map and street team sites. Will also take a pic of my wristband, mention Indieband radio and direct them to the band's previously self-released albums.

Will try and craft my own press release on the band.

Hope this is enough, in addition to buying the new album as gifts for friends.

Hi Amy and ALL other interested MARTY fans,

If you feel inclined to email Rachelle, the journalist we have managed to convince to do an article on LH CD release in January please don't hesitate!

The newspaper she has her column in is the Herald Sun and her column is called Lip Service. The Herald Sun is the biggest newspaper in Melbourne.

OK everyone,

Will have Molly Meldrum's email address up at the end of the week.

We need to work on a strategy for our onslaught. I have been told if he receives many emails regarding exactly the same request he is more likely to act.

So we need to work out the ONE MARTY & LH request we want from Molly and just aim at that first off. If we succeed on that request then we can set our sights on a second request the next time around.

What do we REALLY want!

Molly to review the CD.
Molly to write an article.
Molly to interview Marty & LH.
Molly to go on Foxtel and plug the CD

So many wants, I am open to suggestions, please list what you want, we can vote on it and then the onslaught can begin. The simpler we make it the more likely we will get our request but Molly has so many contacts and is GOOD friends with INXS so anything is possible!

Get those ideas coming, start posting your thoughts so we can ALL decide the best approach to Molly.
