Welcome to the Asian Street Team!We all understand how difficult it is to Street Team in an area where the CD is not even available. So, the Street Team Mods thought all our efforts would be better combined into one team. The Asian Street Team is a team of pioneers. You're doing what's not been done before. No one (before you) has Street Teamed for LH in Asian countries. So, here's to you! Use this thread to talk about what you're doing, to discuss what's working, and to brainstorm new Street Teaming ideas. For those of us who don't live in your part of the world, you will be educating us on how things work there, and hopefully we'll be able to give you some ideas or just give you feedback on yours. We're very proud of all the hard work you all have been doing. Here are a few questions to get us started: - Roll Call! Who are you, and where are you?
- What is the radio system in your area like?
- Is the CD available in your area?
Please try to keep your posts on-topic so that the team can function more easily.

Official LH Street Team Leader, Philippines: Mia Pestaño City: Manila
Radio stations: Are very friendly to people who are non-celebrities. I've been on 2 interviews with 103.5Klite FM Manila's New Alternative. I've been invited back for the third time next week for another Lovehammer talk session. I plan on giving this station the Lovehammers CD too.
When I was in the Island of Cebu, I was met with the same openess and warmth by Y101FM The Rhythm Station. I got to do 3 interviews promoting the Lovehammers. I also gave them the CD my friend Denise sent me so that they have a copy. They have currently added "Trees" on their official playlist and also entered the song in their Top 20 Charts. I hope it does real well.
The CD is not available in the Philippines yet. I plan on contacting Sony here and ask them why it's not being distributed yet. It's difficult to promote the band and no CDs available.
This is tentative but I know a concert organizer who's interested in bringing a foreign band in the Philippines. I mentioned LH and it peaked his interest. Don't know if this will happen. Lots of hard work to pull this off. We'll see if I can take on the job in helping him.

HONG KONG STREET TEAM -- Official leader chk (conhk on LH boards) I'll just sum up what has happened here so far. I ret'd from trip to US with lots of copies of CD that I have been using as promo tool. I have given CDs to two groups of people: 1-- trendsetters in Hong Kong (i.e. prominent fashion designer who wants to use LH music in next show) and 2 -- influential kids at high school. The latter is decided by my daughter who has been talking up and plying LH tunes for classmates. Songs that go over really well-- Trees, Casualty, Hold On I have also been bugging the HMV/record stores here to get MCLH cds (and once it is here, plus any tour details annouced,) will use thier bulletin board for flyers and employ cd -rearranging to help promo the disc In a few weeks I will be interviewing Giorgio Armani and while I dabbled with idea of giving him cd, I will instead wear MCLH T-shirt and tell him about band (& give CD) if he asks (which is possible, ya know.) Because I am a journalist I will be able to use media contact to promote band (which has been mentioned in recent article in Hong Kong Standard about INXS), but will refrain from using my contacts until CD comes to region and/or tour is announced. think that's it for now! will check back with ya asap!

I just want to say that it's been a fun ride Street Teaming for the Lovehammers. However, I'm faced with some personal health problems which is going to prevent me from continuing any Street Teaming work at this present time. I can't say for sure when I'll be back to doing any Street Teaming. I'm in the acute phase of my illness and I have to gather and reserve all my strength in getting better.
Anyway, there are other Fil-Street Teamers around and the rest of the Street Teamers globally who are doing a great job at "spreading the love" about the Lovehammers
Thanks very much to all those people who've been such wonderful cheerleaders when I think I'm not doing a great job. I'm very thankful that I've also made some wonderful friends being part of the Hammerhead family.
Take care everyone! If you'd like to stay in touch with me, I may be reached at miapestano@yahoo.com.
Always, Mia

Okay, this is not techincially Street Teaming, but thought I'd give a heads up to other Asian would-be street teamers that Rock Star: INXS is currently being rebroadcast on Channel V. (Channel V is the equivalent of MTV here and is broadcast on Star TV satellite except in HK where it is a cable channel). I have noticed a few new fans from the region joining the board and would like to encourage any newbies to join the team. Best, chk

How much fun would it be to find someone living through that (discovering MC) for the first time? It would bring lots of good memories back.

These are my cousin Marty's kids. Toby on the left is 13 years old and Mark on the right is 14 years old. Toby just started to learn how to play the drums. Mark is starting to learn the guitar. They are currently forming their own band. Isn't this such a twist of fate? The name of their Dad is "Marty" and starting a band the same age Marty Casey did--and they're brothers just like Dino and Bobby. The stickers you see them holding are ones I had made and they are proudly holding them! I just spent the afternoon with them today introducing them to Lovehammers music. They love the new CD and L'Strange a lot. They're friend Lorenzo who is 16 years old was over their house and was so blown away by LH. He plays guitar and has a band of his own already. My nephews are big Marty Casey fans from Rockstar. Once I'm feeling better, we will be making a home video called "School of Rock" (well that's the title I plan on calling it) and video tape my nephews and their fellow musician friends about why they like the Lovehammers. The editing part might take awhile but once I get it done I'll post it for you all to see. I've recruited LH rock disciples the best way--let them listen to their music. These kids will be writing LH all over their notebooks as Marty dreamed of. Toby and Mark will be helping me Street Team while I'm out of commission. I'm so proud of them. They're Hammerheads now!

Hi y'all,
I was interviewed by 103.5 Klite FM last March 9, 2006. 1pm Manila Time. I finally gave them an original copy of LH's new cd courtesy of dlh from Indiana. The interview is 15 mins & 35 secs. long. As usual, it was DJ Ron who was the dj again because he's my only contact and he's the most senior DJ. It's was a pretty interesting interview. You guys just have to listen when I'm able to put it up. I don't know how to rip a cd open so I have to wait until somebody can help me do it. I have pictures to post of that interview as well. I will do all of this in due time.
Later...

Very cool - can't wait to hear it! I wonder what other songs they'll want to try out from the new CD later.
I'll see if there's some directions I can find to ripping a CD....

Hi there,
Sorry for this late entry as I'd just only stumbled onto this thread. I have been street-teaming (if there's such a verb) under the Aussie Street Team since I'm probably the only visible fan in Singapore, not counting any lurkers. I'll be happy to lend my voice to the Asian Street Team if that'll make the band get here!
So far, I've written to a couple of journos and made some drinks coasters with the LH on them. I have also spoken to my sister about the band and lent her my CDs. She's already a Marty sympathiser so there was no conversion work there. My ST work has stopped temporarily because of work and study commitments. My exams will be over the first week of May and I plan to resume immediately after that. First thing I need to do now is to check with Sony whether the album is going to be released in Singapore and if yes, when. Any news on that?
Mia, love the work you're doing though I haven't had much time to check out all your interviews. Keep it up and spread the love!

Hi Gaia! You're welcome to Street Team with me. Singapore isn't that faraway. LOL. You have MTV there so maybe you can try and see if they can help. What about your radio stations, do they allow "fans" of bands to drop by and do a talk about them? I'm lucky they allow it here in the Philippines. I wouldn't be able to do this, I think, anywhere else. I've really receive a lot of help from other Street Teamers in the US. Den sent me 2 cds and I gave them to the 2 major stations here. That's why Trees is on the air now. They have an original CD. I wish they'd get the CD out in Asia soon.

Hey Gaia, Yeah, babe, we want you here! So let's see for HK this week -- confirmed interview with G Armani and will wear MCLH T-shirt and wristband -- let's see if a conversation develops. Also interviewing K. Lagerfeld in a a week, but it's a formal event so don't think street teaming appropriate -- I KNOW the t-shirt won't be! Also, plugging band with local, hip hair salons, which are always on the lookout for new music to play. Last but not least, have seen commercials for RS:INXS on Channel V. It is now showing throughout the region. Listings for showtimes in different cities/countries can be found here: www.channelv.com/Index.htmThere is also info/applications for the Rock Star 2 on this site. Auditions will be held April 1 in Kuala Lumpur; video auditions can be sent to Channel V headquarters in Hong Kong. I am positive that new Marty fans will come out of this re-broadcast -- so welcome, new hammerheads, to the fold!

I came in way late into the RS season. Glad to hear the boys will be getting some new fans, or at the very least repeak their interest in Marty and the band. Woohoo!!!! Great Street Teaming C Den

I had my weeks messed up --it was Chanel first. So, interviewed pres of Chanel wearing MCLH t-shirt and black striped "marty" pants-- it was hysterical. They looked absolutely stunned that anyone would wear a rock t-shirt to one of their boutiques let alone to speak with one of their execs. At least I didn't wear converse shoes. Next day attended couture show and interviewed Karl Lagerfeld, but did not wear any Hammer clothes (although did sport my mc.org wristband.) KL was actually really cool and I kind of regretted not giving him MCLH cd (had it in my hand and changed mind about bringing it at last minute.) So to atone for lack of cojones, had brilliant conversation with guy today who not only works for Apple, developing iTunes site, but also is a DJ. Plugged LH like mad and he said "yeah I have their stuff, it's good." He thinks the band is selling well and that the biggest problem rock acts have right now, including LH is dowloading of songs wo/payment. Of course he works for iTunes, but I happen to agree. I got his email adrs and will send some more LH info to him. Next week Armani -- in Hammer-attire and with CD in hand. chk

Oh and RS:2 is being plugged like mad on television here. They are showing lots of clips from first series to get people to audition in Kuala Lumpur on April 1. Seeing little snippets of MC is making me quite nostalgic! check out startv.com for details.
