The Marty Casey and Lovehammers Fan Appreciation & Listening Party in Manila, Philippines is coming soon--July 29, 2006. I wouldn't have been able to put this together without the help of so many wonderful people across the globe. Just hearing the radio plug on Klite Manila this yesterday and Jam 88.3fm's own liner about the event gave me such goose bumps. Just--Wow! I only wish that the Lovehammers were actually playing. But the goal of this event is to create a lot more noise for the Lovehammers and to celebrate the Philippine release of their CD and hopefully attract more fans.
THANK YOU TO.....
Philippine Street Teamers
- My Dad: Who would drive to me to many of the interviews I've had to do on the radio for the Lovehammers and waiting patiently until I was done.
- Eric: my cousin, who helps me with all the computer work needed for the event.
- Agnes, Ara, Angelie, Lou, Nonong, Tonette, Trisha, Rocel, Weng
US Street Teamers
- Denise H.: Thank you for giving me neverending support, supplying me with a lot of CDs for giveaways, your friendship, and for donating such a generous amount of funds to make the MCLH party happen. I love you!
- Dan H.: Thank you for always being there when I need you--sending me prizes to give out, LH promo stuff, etc... You rock!
- Carmen, Beth, Elaine, Erin, Gina, Shelly, Jennifer N., Laura, Mary, Melissa M., and Wendy: Thank you for sending me CDs, marketing tools, and just supporting everything I do for the Lovehammers.
- Nancy: Thanks for sending in those great photos of LH to submit to Fudge Magazine.
HK Street Teamers
- Constance: Thank you for the cds and LH sweatbands and for being a pal.
Australian Street Teamers
- Jo: Thank you for the cds and your friendship.
Huge thanks to the sponsors of the Marty Casey and Lovehammers Fan Appreciation and Listening Party!

- Thanks to Jay Server, owner/manager of Capone's Bistro in Makati, Philippines - Thanks to Velcro (www.velcroband.com) for being the band to play cover songs of MCLH.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR YOUR MUSIC Marty, Dino, Bobby, and Billy! You gave me the inspiration to move heaven and earth to get your music heard in the Philippines. I hope that someday you can come and have a major tour here--very soon.
PS. The event will be professionally photographed and video taped. I will post pictures as soon as I can. As for the DVD copy of the event, I am only able to get one copy for myself and the band. I will ask if I can get a discount for multiple copies if people are interested in having one.

I'm only hearing about this Aussie/Asian Hammerjam now? Are the Lovehammers gonna be there? Hi Mia, sorry to confuse you...Hammerjam II is just a code name for some of us who will be meeting up in Melbourne, Australia in Dec. Nope, the Lovehammers are not going to be there. At least, not that I know of I'm very excited at finally meeting some of the lovely people I've met here

MCLH Fan Appreciation & Listening Party, July 29, 2006--Makati City, Philippines Summary: I expected a lot more people to go but unfortunately due to the unexpected torrential tropical rain--many didn't. Despite 3 radio stations plugging the event, the turn out wasn't what I was hoping it would be. Regardless, I made the most of the evening. I showed all videos and a cover band played a few MCLH songs. If rain isn't enough of a disaster, the band that I hired didn't do justice to MCLH songs: Trees and Hold On. The leader singer of Velcro (band I hired) forgot the lyrics to both songs. They played Clouds okay but of course its hard to follow the best--the Lovehammers. Even their rendition of "I alone" by Live, a song Marty made his own and kicked so much ass on Rockstar INXS, was not up to par. But I had the best intentions at hand--to get MCLH heard and they still were. I was there from 6pm - 1am. Had to be there early to decorate and set-up. I had a videographer, photographer, and LCD person to show the videos. Everything needed to make an event worthwhile. I was disappointed because the party wasn't a flying success but nothing always turns out the way you want. It's a risk I took. However, I still earned money from the entrance fee and promoted MCLH the best way I could despite the circumstances. Here are a few pictures from the event: Karen and Agnes

Agnes, I haven't forgetten. I haven't finished posting pictures. I have a very slow computer connection and it's been hard for me to post any graphics. Yes, thank you very much for coming Agnes and thank you also to your friend Karen. Thanks also to Nonong, Trisha, Precious, Choncho, Angelie, and Nika for coming to the event. What I wrote is a summary of what happened and didn't mean to forget people. I also personally thanked you in person for your help. I also thanked many people in my other big post on this thread about the event. Please read. Thanks.

Mia,
Thank you for reporting on the Listening Party. I appreciate your honesty about the event turnout. Even though it was not up to your expectations, I think your efforts will pay off eventually and hey nothing venture nothing gained I say. When we get involved in ST work, there's no way we can foresee whether it will be successful or not. But in your case, you've done so much that this will hardly cause a dent. Hope you're not discouraged...I'm sure the band loves you for all that you do.

Thanks Trees, Gaia, and Den. Nothing ever goes one's way all the time. It was a good learning experience. I haven't gotten discouraged promoting the Lovehammers. I've just stepped it up to another level. Expect to see 2 articles from Fudge Magazine in September about LH. Pulp Magazine will publish one too. I think Music Channel Magazine might. Anyway, they are still in the press here somehow. If I have a story to feed them, they will publish. At least these are contacts I can use, so when they come to the Philippines, they will have a lot of media coverage.
I'm distributing extra copies of their CDs, courtesy of Den, to other stations. They are not rock but mix and pop. Just thought I'd try. It will take a long time before they get back to me--most cases I have to keep on calling every so often. Better to give them out than have them sitting in my closet or give them as prizes. I want them to have more radio play.
Will post the LH Philippine September articles when they are published.
Thanks again!

MCLH needs the Asian Street Team's help to get their music heard on Philippine airwaves more. The last few months they were on a all time high but now they've slipped down the charts--which is inevitable but something we don't want to happen.
To keep their songs played on these radio stations, please email your request or if your a local filipino, please text to request their songs. Thank you!Klite 103.5FM Manila's Lite Alternative:www.klite1035.fm/index.php?strCategory=home- Klite has a voting page so you can continue to vote for Trees there. Hey Great news! Marty Casey & Lovehammers is now in Hong Kong records as well as HMV stores! They even have their own divider! Natch, I went to both stores and made sure MCLH were front and centre. As my daughter said, "See ya later, Maroon 5!"

I've spoken to MTV Philippines. MCLH will be aired as long as they can give me the correct format. I will make a formal announcement once I've gotten the beta cam pal MCLH videos in my hands. I hope I get any type of video soon so that all the Asian Fans can see MCLH on video. All music videos go through MTV Singapore so then it will be shown everywhere else in Asia. Rock!

Great news Mia. Can you PM me to let me know once you have the correct format? So I can finally write to MTV Asia. I couldn't previously cos there was no music video to speak of. LMC has been writing to them but they have largely been ignoring her cos there's no video.
