Awww.....that is too cute.....now I'm really torn about making the Arboretum show a family outing or to just have fun with my grown up girlfriends. Decisions.....that was adorable!

I'm going to be honest here.... The video is Painful to watch.
Even if the kid was prepared (and she wasn't) the interview-by-a-child idea imho is Terrible. People....Marty is a Rocker, not Barney the Dinosaur!
I've got to give poor Marty a lot of credit for putting up with it, and taking over the "interview" when he saw it going nowhere.

Hello~~I was there, witnessed this little Impromptu interview. Even though Marty IS A Rocker, He DOES like Children. It was a wonderful sight to see the interaction between Marty and the little girl. I took pictures of them together. I'm sure Marty likes kids.... I do too .... but Not at Rock Concerts Possibly the set list was different for this event, but LA Guns isn't really appropriate for children that young anyway. Let's allow the rest of us adults to have fun without the kids there

Awww, I love the kid interview. Thanks for the video and for the photos!
Rock Toe - I totally get your point. I am a parent who is very discriminating about where I take my kids ... I get out so seldom myself that if I go to a "grown-up" event, I don't want kiddos around, so I try to be sensitive to that as well as to the content of the event.
But this was more of a festival event? Rather than just a L A Guns in a club concert, right? Sometimes you have to allow a little more leeway for that. I do think Marty was having a good time, and definitely won over not only that little girl and her family but probably everyone else they'll talk to about their experience that day ... at least enough to give L.A. Guns with Marty a try.

Thanks RF for bringing the interview! I couldn't tell if Marty wanted to interview the little girl or it was her mom's idea. The girl is very cute though. It was probably after a long show because Marty looked very tired. I witnessed him on several occasions interacting with kids People should judge when is the right time or not to bring kids to open venues, especially when you are a parent. You are always setting an example. Would I impose a kid on Marty after seeing him so tired? Probably not, but again I was not there. Would I bring such a young child to listen to a rock band? Possible reasons, why not: not a safe environment, don't want her to be surrounded by people drinking alcohol , most of the lyrics are not suitable for a young kid. I would probably get a babysitter for her and then gather my friends to go and have a great time at the show I know this is not a thread to discuss parenting, but just wanted to share my opinion.

Rock the Bayou is a 4 day outdoor festival. There were 4 stages, numerous food vendors, merchandise vendors, and carnival rides. There were lots of kids there. What we saw was Marty focusing all of his attention on HER during her 'interview' with him and taking the time to make her feel really special. The festival was great, but it was hot!! We went on Saturday and were really lucky to see Marty, and have the opportunity to just chat with him for a little while. As Rachae said, Sunday they were offering to upgrade tickets, which we did. So we were able to get up in front at a fence which was about 6 feet from the actual stage front. As she mentioned there were some problems with that, but we were determined! We had observed the guys walking around behind the stage while the band before them, 'Dangerous Toys' was playing. They seemed to be anxious to hit the stage and start playing. The audience was not near what it should have been, probably because of the heat or the concerns about the hurricane, but the audience was really rockin hard throughout the show. I, of course had a guy behind me who was, i'll just say, very enthuastic. I'm not any good at remembering each of the songs, but they played most of the ones they have been playing. They sound like they have been playing together alot longer than 3 months. The stage was huge, so there was plenty of room for Marty to not get injured. One of my favorite moments was following STFU Marty was escorted back onto the stage by 2 scantly dressed lovelies. It was too cute! I probably took 3 times as many pictures as usual. I've been working on editing them and plan to post some tomorrow. We were really lucky, a second time in getting a friend of a friend to take us into the press tent. Marty was his usual charming and gracious self. We got the chance to say hi, get hugs, watch him being interviewed by that little darling, and get pictures with him. YAY!!! The added bonus was seeing hin perform with a group of artist from other bands (including Alice Cooper's lead gutiar player) at the after party. It was another GREAT weekend! (And I loved sharing with you Rachael.) We had so so much fun! I just can not wait to get my hand on that CD! [/IMG]
