Hi Marty. Congrats on your new endeavour. I read somewhere that LA Guns are signed with a major label. It's Alexus, right? I tried to find out some info about the label (cool to find out it's Canadian), but I can only find one other band who was listed with Alexus. They're called Seven Enders and it appears they're kaput and are giving away free downloads of their CDs on their website. Anyway, do you know who else is on your new label? Just wondering if you're in good company. Also, if it is a small label rather than a MAJOR label, do you think that will that work to your advantage (i.e. allow you and/or LAG more creative control than a larger label)? Cheers.

We are the first band signed to Alexis Records. There are two other bands on the label. One is Pat Travers (Boom Boom Out Go The Lights) whom I got to jam with last week and we actually starting kinda writing a tune. He's an incredible guitarist and it was cool to hang-out at the album wrap up party. The other band signed to the label is Sonic Cult. They are a heavier hard core band like Tool. They have some amazing tunes and I got to hear some demo's prior to their 2009 recording timeline.
The label is independent and very well operated. There is alot of excitement with the label owner (Johnny B) really wanting to do some fun stuff to promote the release. We are all pretty blown away with what we captured in these recording sessions. Lots of hours of work and it really was intense. Our record will be released in March 2009. We had complete creative control but we really got challenged by the producer Steve Thompson. I have never had to spend so many hours in the vocal booth doing take after take. It was really draining but the performances are some of my best yet. Can't wait for you to hear these songs.
