Ok, i live in florida and i drive a silver car and i have a cardinal that sits on my mirrors as well....how strange!! I thought it was because birds were attracted to silver cars, but, since yours is blue.......there goes that theory.

The bird sees his reflection in the mirror, and, thinking it's another bird, believes he has found a mate. Wash the vehicle another time to get rid of the poop and then whenever it's parked just throw a towel over the mirror. The bird will be gone.

I'm taking the cars (the truck and the van) tomorrow to wash them. I'll camouflage my mirrors when I get back. I'll let you know if it works! lol

I thought it was blue & red cars that were prone to bird poop - could be wrong though. Best of luck Ceeje

Ok, it worked for a bit, but then the towel fell off. I can't tell if the wind blew it off or the dogs pulled it off or what?!? I'm going to wash my van again and I'll try to cover the mirrors with something else. How redneck fabulous would it be to cover them with Walmart bags? But I wonder if the heat from the sun would melt the plastic bag onto the car? I guess I need to just get some cheap towels that I can rip a bit and tie them on there. We've had redbirds and bluebirds around here for every. I've never had this problem. But, this is the first summer we've had all blue vehicles. Maybe it's a turf war thing. The redbirds are warning those big blue birds away by pooping all over them. LOL!! j/k

LOL How intriguing! Is there a tree near by? Or--WAS there a tree near by. Maybe the little guy just needs a perch. Hnag a bird feeder in the tree. Oh yea- good idea- lets get ALL the birds to come to your driveway. LOL Keep us posted. I love it.

Ok, bird poop update...
I tried the redneck fabulous walmart bags. It worked, until the dogs tore them down. (They can look innocent all day long -- I saw the paw print! lol) I backed the van in backwards. I'm not sure if that will fool the birds, but it's worth a try.
All the trees are still where they were -- and there's a lot of them. We've got woods on all sides of our house. Plenty of places for that pesky bird to plop his poopy tookus.

(say it like the Guiness commercials. ) Hey- P.S.- how does one "back in backwards" ? Wouldn't that be going forward?

Had to get all technical on me! LOL j/k I meant to say I parked the van backwards. And, so far it's working. *crosses fingers and knocks on wood* I just can't back in my husband's truck because it's too long. I'd be afraid I'd take out the side of my van.

Bird still pooping. And, apparently he (or she?) likes the wild berries that grow around here. (I'm not explaining that.) I haven't been able to find anything to cover the mirrors with that the dogs can't get down. Yes, my dogs are too smart for my own good. So, either I give up and let the bird poop all over our vehicles or I have to pen up our dogs all the time. OMG! I just had an idea! I can get some of the sticky shelf paper and stick it to the mirrors. That has to work, right? They're smart dogs, but they don't have thumbs. To be continued...

Be careful that it's not in direct sunlight, you might have a hard time peeling it off.

Due to recent family emergencies, I haven't had time to work on the bird poop problem. The contact paper thing doesn't work because it's so hot out side it melts. (I tried it on something else before I put it on my car, thank goodness.) I'm about out of ideas. I never did find any blue towels to wrap around them. I guess I need to put that on my list when I go get the back to school stuff. And, the berries... Normally, bird poop is white, right? Well, our bird has been eating the berries around here and his poop is now berry-licious. If you get my drift. (I think I just made myself a little sick. )
