Okay- a couple of things:

1) His breathy delivery in the beginning
2) The arms
3) The arms and chest
4) The arms and chest and ev.ery.thing.
5) "If I had just one wi-i-ish"...while clenching jaw...
6) "That he can take this life, and hold it by the hand" ... while doing the hand gesture... with those long, elegant fingers (and more jaw clenching)

At that point- I was DONE.

(No one's heard me obsess in a reaaaally long time. Kinda fun.)

This was the night my life was saved . It changed when I looked into those dusky eyes that revealed a soul that reached out to me with strong arms -" Welcome to this place , I'll show you everything ....with arms wide open". His voice , so soft and breathy one minute , then commanding the next . Then he does this snake thing with his arms . His entire upper torso was fluid movement . So beautiful to watch . Tears of joy streamed down my face .

Now everything has changed ............

I went to the archives tonight and decided to watch the vids in the order of the performances. I was in LA on a project that summer and watched every show from my hotel room. I was trying to remember which performance was the 'one' that got me hooked. I do not think there was one. He demanded my attention from the start and has never let me off the hook to this day.

I love this one b/c for me it was the first time I thought he really just looked into the camera and shared his heart and soul thru his voice. It was amazing. It was really fun to go back in time and watch all the RS performances and think about how far we have all come since then especially Marty.

He said at the exit interview that one of the things he learned was that you have to take risks to get great rewards. I am so, so glad that he has learned that lesson.
