Sorry for the wait, been very busy! lol I am writing a blog on myspace on the entire weekend, but here is the portion containing the Dallas Firewater show.
Friday, July 11th 4:45am
I didn't get much sleep last night, less than four hours. I was just too excited , imagine seeing Marty Casey perform three times in three days! OMG! who could sleep.
I met up with Rachael just before noon in Austin. After a wonderful lunch we headed for Dallas. We probably would have driven anyone crazy, all the laughing and giggling and both of us talking at the same time. hahaha It was so good to see each other again.
We finally found our hotel where we met up with three other friends and one new friend - a fellow Texan. An hour to freshin up and time to go. We got to the venue, a place called 'Firewater' (a really cool place) and discovered L.A. Guns would go on at midnight....anticipation! While there we met up with two more fabulous friends. We decided to wait awhile before trying to make our way to the front of the stage, because it is so hot in Texas ya know. Once we did decide to enter the crowd, let me just inteject protctive body gear would have been nice. It was BRUTAL, thru Bang Tango and Faster Pussycat. How brutal could it be you ask? It was brutal enough that the section of the platform floor we were standing on collapsed under us. YIKES! But we survived that and made it to the front of the stage by the time LAGs came on. When Marty came out I could barely breathe, the power level was thur the roof, my heart was pounding and the floor was vibrating. I thought I would faint, but I am sure even if I would have fainted no one would have noticed because the crowd was so tight I would have still been standing. I won't list each of the songs they did since LAG's catalogue WAS unknown to me at the time. The band's sound was rockin great and in usual Marty Casey style, had there been a roof, he would have blown it off the place. Song after song, even thoughI had never heard them before, I loved them! I was thrilled to hear 'This Town' as it is one of my favorite all time songs, and of course 'Trees'. After their performance Marty, Jeremey, and Al all came out to mingle with and say hi to the crowd/fans. I was thrilled to say, "Welcome to Texas" to Marty and tell him I was so excited to be getting to see three shows. I think Marty was really happy to know he would have familiar faces in the crowd at each of the Texas shows, showing love & support for him. Another night we were way too excited to get more than a few hours of sleep. Then time for good-byes.
