Hey Marty,
It's 10 PM here - I'm not sure what time it is in Tennessee, but I'm guessing you're on or close to the stage. After listening to your recent interview with the TX DJ, I'm becoming more enthused about life's possibilities myself. You sounded like a kid in a candy store - such a positive vibe and the most powerful karma. Good on ya, Marty!!!
Right now I'm pleasantly buzzed after a nice dinner at the marina bar/restaurant here in the little sleepy town in Eastern Ontario where I work (and play). Hanging out with the coolest folks who are half my age but worldly all the same.
So, I'm now listening to INXS and observing how underrated 'Elegantly Wasted' is as an album. Hutchence was some sort of a genius, wasn't he? I'm recalling you talking about Jim Morrison and Tracii Guns - a bit of an analogy between the two figures - without them... etc... There must be so much pressure to be that icon - that lead actor. You must have felt that way yourself.
I couldn't help but smile when you talked about how there is no plan with L.A. Guns. That's exquisite and scary to me all at once - being a person who's a bit too analytical a bit too much of the time. But lately I'm on the verge of stepping out of line and finding that 'no plan' world.
My meandering thoughts lead me to ask you... do you relish the opportunity to 'mix in', to 'go with the flow', to 'fade away' just a wee bit??? This seems such a basic and elegant move to me. Is it where you're at? The 'no plan' world seems to be what you need. Am I getting it? I hope so, because you've inspired me recently. Bold steps. New horizons. Rock it out.
Thanks for bearing with my musings. Appreciate your return musings.
I'll be heading to the show in Toronto and looking forward to the new energy.!!!
Nancy
