Hi Marty, I have been a fan since RS, like many others here, but never felt compelled to post until now. I started running a few years ago, and the first CD's I put on my Ipod were L'Strange and MOMM. They always kept me moving, especially Throw My Head, that is my "Power Song" so thanks for that! Earlier this year I injured my knee and had to take 6-8 weeks off running and as a replacement I found Bikram Yoga. I just read somewhere you were doing a lot of it in Chicago before you hit the road. Isn't it amazing?? I go 3 times a week and feel it is my time to just really connect with myself physically, emotionally and even spiritually. The whole series kicks my butt every time, but I find Akward Pose, Triangle and Fixed Firm (because of my knee) the most difficult, and my favorites are Standing Bow, Tree Pose, and Camel.
So my question is what are your favorite and most challenging poses? I will be seeing you with LA Guns in Portland in August so I will say "Hello" and maybe we can have a Savasana-moment. LOL! I'm sure the rock and roll energy will be a bit crazy for that! Take Care and Have Fun on your new adventure! Namaste, Marty. M

M,
I am so glad to hear you love Bikram. It is truly an hour and 1/2 that you feel so unbelievably connected with yourself. All of the concerns of daily life get sweated out and you get to think free and clear. It makes me feel unbelievably grounded.
I don't remember alot of the names of the poses. I like the one where you are lying on your stomach, you grab your feet and you bend your legs up to the ceiling. It forces all of the stress out of your entire body, like wringing the dirty water out of a towel. It is at times an unbelievable amount of work to make that pose happen but when you release it is like unraveling a tightly wound rope. You just fall to the floor breathing heavily and sweating out every pore. Quite amazing and demanding all at the same time.
Namaste Amiga!
Marty
