What is a PM and IM?

just needing some help with high tech stuff
what does PM (personal message?) mean and what does IM (instant message?) mean and how do you do it?

hey natalie the quickest way to PM someone, or send them a personal message is to click on their name. For example, you can click on chk and send me a note that only I can see... it is private mail of a sort that waits for the recipient to be around. instant messaging is when you're both on-line and sending messages back and forth.
