I am glad that you like it. The Lotus flower symbolizes divinity, fertility, wealth, knowledge and enlightenment. It is considered a sacred flower.

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!! I am amazed at the great gifts and cards that I received for my birthday this year. It really gave me an understanding of how well everyone is getting to know me. The range of gifts stems from beautifully written cards complete with letters giving me insight on what you have going on in your lives and what the year has brought you. It was fun to kick back on my couch and read thru the descriptive letters telling stories of trips to shows with friends, excited adventures, goals reached, injuries or health issues resolved, new dreams finding a way into the framework of life, funny jokes and heartfelt words of support. Some of the letter were even hand made and looked like peices of art.
I received lots of new music, teas, chocolate & candy, a killer graphic jacket (wore that the day I opened it!), journals, stuff for my new place, a complete wine tour thru the world, keychains, books, hand painted pictures, collages, wristbands, rings, necklaces, poems and enough Starbucks gift cards to keep me caffeinated and shaking for weeks. I also liked that many of the gifts included a picture of us together at one of the many shows over the last few years. I look at the picture and try to remember what venue it was taken at. Sometimes there is a clue in the shot that brings me back to the time and place.
I really want to thank everyone for being so generous to me. Opening the gifts and reading the cards was one of the highlights of my birthday. I realize how many great friendships i have been lucky to make. It makes me realize how often we get to see one another and how each relationship is unique and exciting. There really is so much more going on between us than simply the music. It's a family that keeps growing and getting more in tune with one another. This birthday I feel really lucky. Lucky to have so many amazing friends in my life. Thank you for taking the time and sending your messages. You really made my birthday something to be remembered.

P.S. I want to thank Amy for getting all of the cards and gifts together and sending them over on my birthday. The box was as big as a dishwasher and when I received it my jaw dropped to the floor. I couldn't believe it.

WooHoo  Marty got our cards and presents we sent, I am so happy that he liked them and enjoyed them all so much.  I love that he thinks of us as one big family, that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside  I'm glad he thought of this birthday as something really special, I feel everyday with Marty in my life is special  Helen  |

I do not think his list was meant to be exhaustive. If he got a box the size of a dishwasher, there must have been alot in it. I took his thank you note as general thank you to everyone and mentioning just a few things. I think it is so cool that he got sooo much goodies this year. Wow!!!!

Webdef, I do not think his list was meant to be exhaustive. If he got a box the size of a dishwasher, there must have been alot in it. I took his thank you note as general thank you to everyone and mentioning just a few things. I think it is so cool that he got sooo much goodies this year. Wow!!!! Liz If my gift were in the box that he received that would make sense but my gift was a written one that was posted almost two months ago in the Marty thread. Just as others were eager to know if their gift was received I too wanted to know if he found the one that I had posted. Unfortunately I believe the answer is no. I just feel embarrassed because I shared a piece of my heart and I think he is one of the few that haven' t seen it. I have since made the choice to delete it. |
