All right! Thank you to the review from lauritech and the wonderful pics from Kari and chifan... and for the set list too!
Let's hear from EVERYONE who was at the show. I am sure everyone has a nice story to tell and a favorite moment. Please post.
Also if anyone wants to post a pic of themselves wearing their Trees Dog Tag, that would be cool too.

Hi Everyone - Thought that I would give a review of the day at Morton Aboretum. I will leave the pics to our talented photographers. Nancy, Lyn, and Kari were snapping away al afternoon First of all, everyone needs to put this on their list of places to visit (in good weather) while in the CHicago area. What a beautiful place. The day was spectacular with the weather cooperating in a huge way. It was sunny in the high 70s, may have even hit 80. The falls festivities were underway which made for a real upbeat time. They had tents with candy apples, pumpkin painting, free wine tasting , and their were lots of kids laughing and having a wonderful time. I was able to walk around the grounds before the Silver Elements Launch event. There was a table set up in the aboretum store for Marty to meet fans, sign autographs, and lots of pics. And Marla was there with a surprise preview of a few of the next pieces in the collection. They are beautiful and I look forward to them being announced. There was a non-stop line to see Marty from 3-5:30pm, so it was really busy. I think that they did well selling some necklaces and there was much talk around the building about it, so I would say that the Launch went really well. Marty looked rested and was in high spirits all afternoon. There were cds given away of the studio recording of Trees with Dave Navarro. As the sun was making its way to the west, it was time for the acoustic show. There was a really good crowd of folks with lots of kids. Cara Carriveau introduced Marty and we sang Happy Birthday to him as he came on stage. Well, that got one of those amazing million dollar smiles and set the tone for the show Here is the set list, if I forgot any someone please jump in and add to it: Mr. Brightside Hold On You Can't Always Get What You Want Creep HMBOMT Just Go Wish You Were Here (dedicated to a family member who passed away this past week) Trees Ok, this is just my opinion, but Marty's voice is getting better and better. It was really strong and he is using his lower register which sounds amazing. I know he mentioned that he did that on the new cd, I can't wait!!!! I will let JupiterJane tell her story, but want to say that her scrapbook is just amazing and it was great to get to see it. It never ceases to amaze me how generous Marty's fans are, wow!!!! Marty invited the gang to the Zebra Lounge later in the evening so we headed there after dinner. It was a small, nice place with a piano bar. I won't mention any names but my female friend decided to torture the piano player (older gentleman) by asking him to play songs like Mr. Birghtside, Creep,,,etc. I finally felt sorry for the man and asked him to sing I Can't Help Falling in Love with You. He seemed truly relieved to finally be able to sing something for us . Somewhere between midnight and dawn we decided that it was time to call it a day. It was a really great day and alot of fun for everyone!!!! From my vantage point it looks like the official launch of the Silver Elements Collection was a big success!!!!! I asked Marla and she said new pieces would be out fairly soon, so I think we may have some nice choices for our holiday shopping Hopefully more pics will follow from those with the 'real'cameras. Kari - your pics came out great!!! Thanks for sharing. And it was great to finally meet you. ps - I had the honor to meet Mr. Casey and now know where the charm and sweetness comes from. yup. that acorn did not fall far from the tree

I have to agree Marty's voice was the best I've heard it in a long time. I called a friend who could not be there so she could listen and she agreed the road has been kind to him. His lower register is sounding incredible. He also just seemed so at ease.
I loved the new song, "Just Go". I have heard him sing all the other songs before except for "You Can't Always Get What You Want", so that was a cool new treat as well.
He invited the kids up to sing "Trees" with him, and my son decided to join when he saw some older kids go up there. Marty pointed him out and said something like check this kid out, he's already a rock star. He'll never know how much that meant to him and to me.
I have to add on a personal note that I was blown away by how cool Marty was with my son. He treated him like an old friend when they met and made him feel like a rock star.

Thank you all for your awesome reviews and pics! So glad that you all had a wonderful time! I haven't been to any of his acoustic shows....they sound like they are a blast and a different experience from the loud electric shows. How fun to experience the contrast between the "Marty is on fire!" show and the "Marty seemed so relaxed" show."

Hi guys (new forumie here!) Just thought I'd like to thank Marty and his crew for such a great event. First time seeing him live and he was just great! Anyway, I thought that I'd share my favorite pic of the event that I took. I like the young rockstars (esp. the guy with the red tinted hair) singing along in the background

It was a wonderful time. That's my son with the red tinted hair in the background. I hope it's okay with you if I steal a copy of that photo for myself. I only had my cell phone camera and couldn't get a good shot.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! It was a wonderful time. That's my son with the red tinted hair in the background. I hope it's okay with you if I steal a copy of that photo for myself. I only had my cell phone camera and couldn't get a good shot. No problem! If anyone else had someone up dancing that they are looking for a pic, let me know (erm prob. thru PM would work best); I'll look through my pics. Although I was too into the concert to really remember to take a lot of pictures he he but I do have a few more bigger group ones

Hi everyone! Let me just say this was an absolutely amazing day for me. I don't have much time right now, but I will log on later for sure and post my review w/some pics and I have videos of the entire event. OF course, I will not post any unreleased songs out of respect for Marty's art.....so sorry, you won't get to see "Just Go". He is absolutely amazing....this was my first experience seeing him do a solo acoustic. Yes, he now knows about the scrapbook and I have witnesses that he agreed to come to Bloomington to get it when it is done. If you have any great pics from this summer's shows and want to be part of it.....PM me. I'll be on later tonight if I can.
