I am considering making this one... just need to find a ride. Like always transportation is an issue. We will see... I think this one is closer to Mission Bay... so the drive will be longer into San Diego. Don't count me in or out yet.

Hum... how about I write you a note?
"To whom this may concern:
I am sorry that Terri was unable to go to work on October 24th, 2008. She had become very ill, with bad fever and sore throat. Believing that she may have been contagious to her fellow co-workers, we decided to keep her home until she was better.
Should you have any questions or further comments, please feel free to contact the LAG street team.
Thank you in advance.

This is really funny... I was trying to do some research to see what the lighting is like at this bar - and it turns out it's the old Blind Melon's, and has been renovated and renamed - so that's good! But while doing that reaserch, I found this video of the owner describing the bar as "Chicago-themed" www.vidsit.com/business-video/710-beach-club-overview.htmlAnd one patron says... "This place really grabs the atmosphere of Chicago, and brings it to the beach." Such a crack up! It's also described as the closest bar to the beach in San Diego - and they used to allow drinking on the beach in Pacific Beach - that only recently changed. Should be a fun night!

LOL... It would be nice if it worked. Hum... I am not an 'official street team member'... do you think the note would still be valid?
I could write one like this...
"To whom this may concern:
Please excuse Terri from work on October 24th 2008. She is sick of work and can only be cured, with loud rock music, plenty of drinks, and friends that are totally awesome.
I thank you for your time. Should you need to be in contact with me regarding this matter, please feel free to call me at (800) 438-5678 ***(800)GET-LOST***
Sincerely,

This show was great! Jodie and I drove up (or down actually) from LA, we got in around 6:30 I think, enough time for dinner and drinks before the show, until we found out the guys didn't go on until midnight, (oh crap!!!) I had a photo shoot the next day in the morning and I knew then and there I wouldn't be home until 5 or 6 am. Oh well Time enough to drink then. We settle in and just enjoy some great time with a good friend and just have a few drinks. We head over to the venue after alot of booze and even more laughs and get inside. We play a couple of games of pool to kill some time, meet a few local guys, play some doubles and make sure they know about LA Guns playing in a bit. Jeremy lets us know they are on next so we head up to the front...very front. Our fellow cali girl Kellee is there and so we stand our ground up front. (I am rarely in the very front...i usually like to be back just a bit so I can see everything) but it was such an intimate place that I wanted to be in the very front, so we held our ground with all the guys pushing us from behind. The show started and it was clear to see that SD loves them some LA Guns, Chad even mentioned how good it was to see some LA GUns love from SD and Traci mentioned how he has been playing SD for 10 years and was glad to see so many fans there tonight. The sound was great! ( though when you are right by the speakers I guess the sound is always great) lol They opened up w/ No Mercy, and a few other Guns staples, Played This town, and Trees (trees seemed to be even more edgy, sounded like they added even more guitar than usual, and i liked it) The set was great, and about half way through Marty borrowed Big Al's guitar, took a seat on the drum and he and Traci played "Wish you were here" It was really gorgeous! Marty then also mentioned how he liked SD, that it seemed more laid back than LA (what place isn't...lol) and that he loved how brazen and honest SD is. He said he was walking down the beach and someone told him he looked like a pirate. lol soooo funny. Anyway, They went back into the rock and the guys around us were getting so excited, Jodie almost got puched in the face a few times from one of the guys we played pool with because he was so excited, and the guy behind me kept reaching in front of me and pulling on marty's t-shirt and belt trying to get his attention, yelling out that he wanted to sing, marty finally put the mike to his mouth during Rip and Tear (I think) and let him sing a line...I'm sure that made his night! I know at least it calmed him down he he stopped pulling on marty's clothes. lol Being up front at this show was especially interesting, sometimes, I just didn't know where to look... and I tried to keep my hands down when marty would come to the front cuz the height of the stage was only like 2 or so feet off the ground and I didn't want my hands to be in his face or in his way from doing his thing. So I would have them up when he was back or on the other side of the stage then try to pull them down when he got right in front of me. At one point, he jumped past me and into the crowd (which was PACKED!) and climbed up onto a little table that was in the middle of the room, so I finally was free of the pushing guys until he came back up onstage. lol I really wanted them to play Over the Edge, God I love that song, and I love how it is a bit darker now, i love how it was re-arranged and how marty sings it....but sadly it wasn't played. But, No Mercy, One more Reason and Fire It up were played and I LOVE LOVE LOVE those! The hour and 15 minutes went by waaaay too fast, and eventhough my pointy boots had cut off the circulation in my toes and I wasn't sure if they were still actually attached to my feet, I would have loved to have watched at least another hour. I love this, band, I love their energy and you can tell they are having a good time. I also love Jeremy's version of Shut the f**k UP, and look forward to it a every show! I'm sure those 4 minutes are a nice break for Marty too. lol Traci came up to the front, right in our faces and played a few times and we pretended like we were playing guitar too...that was fun, it is so cool to see how many people lose their minds at watching him play, at one point a guy jumped up onstage, but then immediately got back down before marty turned around and was able to see I think. This vrowd was so excited, It was great to be there and see such a great young crowd so hungry for LA GUns. They ended the show, no encore...and immediately the club was yelling at everyone to get out! It was past 2 am and so we said our goodbyes to Marty and Kellee and as we walked back to our car down the alley, unable to feel out feet, a guy peeing in a corner comes out and is following us and comes up and grabs my hand, i recognize him from the show so I ask him about the show, he drunkenly praised the show, and said it ROCKED! lol It was a great night and eventhough I got only a couple of hours of sleep before my shoot the next day, it was well well worth it! I sooo wanted to drive to AZ, but sometimes work comes before play! :-( I LA Guns!

What a great review, Kimberly! I love it!!! The part about the drunk guy peeing in the alley, then coming over to grab your hand, has me LOL!!! Oh, the weird things that happen at shows! Hey, are you a photographer? What's your specialty?

yes the drunk guy after the show was scary and hilarious at the same time.
The quirky and 1 on 1 things at a show, are the best!
