This is a bit "rhymie" with a boat load of dark. But it is time. Evil Evil showed its ugly face today With those sinister eyes glaring our way I still myself trying to comprehend Not knowing the beginning or the end I may have been caught at a time When life’s sentinel was not mine Did you think that I was so awestruck? And too naïve to figure it out I have news for you You were wrong Very, very wrong And now monster, you are forever gone You did not count on the real connection It was not all your sick fantasy You did not count on good prevailing Two bright stars united and shining I know that evil sometimes wins This time good ensured no life scars I know that the universe has a way Of reconciling deeds on judgment day Know this to be true I will not rest Until the day is here When your evil is extinguished forever Liz, I was looking for a particular quote in regard to this poem, and I finally found it. Here it is: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." ~Edmund Burke Thankfully, good people, both men and women, did do something in this case, and evil did not win in the end! Bravo!!!

Because I am a big romantic sap...LOL This is a new one. Beauty That I KnowShould I live a thousand lives, I will never see anyone as beautiful as you. All in perfection, A soul that is surrounded in a thousand lights. Tranquil as the rivers flow, And just as constant. How I am all, With you drawn closely within my arms... Yet, nothing when you are gone. Forgive me, For being left speechless. Forgive me, For losing all thought. Forgive me, For not being able to take my eyes away from you. Beauty that I know so well, You are my love. My journey complete. How I am filled at last. Filled and whole! For too long the journal of my heart, Stood dusty and with unwritten pages. Empty and untouched. All that, Is forgotten now. Like a slight grain of sand, Blown away with the force of wind that blew into my life, Like your presence... Your love and compassion, Has made all the emptiness I once knew, A distant memory. My pages are filled. I am overflowing, With all that I never dreamed I could have. Beauty... how I love thee. Forever and all eternity, I shall be yours. Together, We shall write the world an endless story of our love.

I want to try something different. So, I am writing this off the top of my head... If Heaven SpeaksWhat whispers do you hear in the clouds, If the world speaks all too loudly? I hear nothing. Feel nothing... Emptiness is all that I know, Within my heart that has grown so heavy and cold, From wanton thoughts. Not lust, But a unclaimed desire, To have something vastly more than what I have come to know. Love... perhaps? That too is unclear, For I have no idea to be honest what love is. I have heard o this thing... This emotion called love. Yet, it was not spoken of by angels within clouds. I heard it from the parting lips of men and women... Who spoke of it intimately, As if the emotion itself was their lover. Love... What is love? Surely, I shall never know. Perhaps... never. How sad, To think upon this, Even for the briefest of moments. It is all to painful. It is all too clear. To walk a lifetime... Although as brief as it may be, Alone in this world, With no one to call my own. For certain, I shall mourn. What whispers do you hear in the clouds, If the world speaks all too loudly? If Heaven speaks at all, Then it shall be louder than the universe itself. Perchance it shall say, That my dreams of love for all eternity will be true, Or that forever I shall walk alone. Edited for typos...LOL. Beautiful pieces, Steph. The first one is so very romantic, and it is the perfect poem for that "perfect" someone. In the second one, the line "As if the emotion itself was their lover," reminds me of how common it is for people to be in love with love, more so than with their actual lover. Good work. Hope to post one soon...

Good gosh I can't type today...LOL Thank you Blue. I am glad that you like my last two works I went back to change the title... I typed 'If Heaven Says', but the title should have been "If Heaven Speaks'. For some reason that late at night, I thought that is what I had typed...LOL Maybe, I shouldn't do late night posting without an edit buddy around...LOL

This is kind of an experiment to see what I can come up with when I'm not fully awake...LOL. AnywayStay with me… Even during the lonely times I’m a million miles away, And you don’t think I will return… Stay with me, anyway. Even during the volatile times I’m in your face, and you want to say, Get out, and don’t come back… Stay with me, anyway. I’ve seen love reduced to ashes, A bitter memory of a burning fire Once ascending to heavenly heights; Once transcending lust and desire. I’ve seen love wander inadvertently Into a complex web of lies; Tangled, struggling for life and freedom; Failing despite how hard it tries. But we are different. Stay with me… Even though the deck is stacked against us, We should remain in the game and play; So what if you’re not the gambling type… Stay with me, anyway. Even though we kiss goodnight, at peace, The truce will end the following day; So what if you’re a lover while I’m a fighter… Stay with me, anyway. Stay with me… Stay with me… Stay with me, anyway.

Nice work everyone! I really havent spent much time posting lately been very busy with work and school. let me see what i can come up with for you guys.... oh and blue ~ that last one, AMAZING " The Oceans Roar" The waves break upon the sand, its the only sound you hear. The peaceful sounds of the ocean, settles your restless mind tonight. A million thoughts have run through your head today, not one of them makes sense. How could this happen? Why did it have to be? But as you sit there on the beach, staring at the stars and moon. You close your eyes, and take a breath. Clarity is all you see now, and the answers all you hear. You cannot change the past, But you can live for the future. So open your eyes now, and take a deep breath. You have found what your looking for, the answer was always there.....

I feel like playing with the random thoughts in my head... Remember To Love MeI am sorry... I don't know what else to say. I never meant to hurt you, Or meant to ever get in your way. Love was my only reason, That I ever stood by you every step of the way. Somehow, that was too much. Perhaps, it was a little to late. From all that I have come to know about you, I may be the biggest mistake you have ever known... My love was way too true. Push me away. Don't speak to me any longer. I will walk far away, And never be seen any longer in the world that you have come to know. The world that you have built, With stone walls all around you. I am sorry, I should have been worse. Maybe if I would have hurt you... Like the other's that you allowed into your life before, Then I would still have a place in your heart. Someway, my honesty and devotion was all too much... too soon. Never think of me fondly. Speak poorly of all that I was. I have no place in memories, Within the tragedy that is you. Remember to love me... One day when you finally learn to love yourself too. By then I will have moved on, And you will finally realize all that we could have been, And how the mistake was cutting me loose.

Good one, Steph! So sad....I believe that many can relate to these unfortunate circumstances in a relationship.

Star--"If Heaven Speaks" is one of your best!
Christine--good work on the ocean poem. I often feel comforted by being at the ocean or Lake Michigan, so I can relate.

Christine - You poem is so beautiful!!!! Steph - another good one and yes so sad. Why does love have to be so hard? Life, with all its rewards, can also be such a struggle...and a game. I believe it's in our nature to play games....and that is how we survive in a challenging world. Unfortunately it can really affect our relationships in an unhealthy way. Thinking about this inspired the following poem. The GameTell me why… When I ask you a direct question You won’t look me in the eye; Cryptic words fall from your lips; Are there truths beneath your lie? I am left wounded, left to decipher, Left to play this tiresome game; You know I’m too proud too quit; My curiosity won’t too soon wane. Tell me why…. We misread each other’s intentions; We’re rarely ever on the same page; I push, you pull, in our tug-of-war; Our hearts burning with love and rage. I follow you…the hunter and hunted; Led by a desperate desire to win; Justified by the belief that you need my help; Shut me out…I will force my way in. Tell me why… When you promise me you'll take care of my heart, I panic, as it gets harder to breathe; When you announce that you’re here to stay, I announce I am ready to leave. When I promise you I'll take care of your heart, It turns black, and grows cold to the touch; When I fill your mind with thoughtful conversation, You say my words, my feelings, are too much. Tell me why Love is so difficult; Why it causes so much pain; Why it can’t simply exist; Will it--can it--ever not be a game?
