Does anyone who lives in a warm climate miss having snow on the ground for Christmas. I was in Mexico a few years back and really felt I needed to see some snow. I guess it all depends on what it was like when you were a kid. We could all use some heat in the midwest. Yes. I moved to Florida so I could play golf year round. It is really strange that everyone is in flip flops and shorts running around. And people put the Christmas tree lights on the ground to twinkle like snow. I am heading back to Boston tomorrow. Rumor has it that there is more than enough snow there for me. Ok - I need advice from some of our more seasoned posters. Half bottle of wine in, I am having issues with the keyboard. What is happening here?? Hee hee! Wine in, typing out....

a great Christmas song is "Peace On Earth" - Bing Crosby + David Bowie. Such a unique pairing of singers makes for a GREAT Christmas song!!

National Lampoon's Christmas vacation...you just have to love cousin Eddie? I think every family has at least one cousin Eddie....
Favorite Christmas memory-a few years back we put cotton balls in our fireplace doors so the boys would think that Santa snagged his coat on the way out from delivering presents--kind of messed up the area around the hearth to look like he jumped down the chimney and climbed back up. The look on their faces was PRICELESS!

I really wanted supplies for my trip to New Zealand. Simple things like clothing for the summertime and socks. I also wanted to get a chair for my apartment. I have a nice couch but need a proper chair that feels right for sitting and playing guitar comfortably. No arms and a slight lean back to just chill out and strum. That will be my gift to myself. You always have to get yourself something for Christmas RIGHT!!!!! Absolutley! Gift to myself....a trip, a trip to someplace where it snows for NYE.

I know we're past this, but I only got half of the ingredients!! (Copy and paste malfunction... ) Thank goodness others were on the ball! "Hot toddy is a name given to a mixed drink that is served hot, believed to have originated in the 18th century to make the taste of scotch more palatable to women.[citation needed] Although there are many variations, essential ingredients are: - a hot beverage which may be tea, coffee, cocoa, water, apple cider, etc. - an alcoholic spirit such as brandy, rum, or whiskey... ...and forgot this part... - usually a sweetener, such as honey, sugar or syrup. Other ingredients that are often added: spices, usually "brown" spices such as cinnamon or cloves. citrus, such as lemon or orange. Lemonade can be used instead of hot water and citrus; this is a modern variant. a little butter." And, no, I haven't been drinking tonight.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is a must very year. It keeps getting funnier and funnier. My friends memorized all the lines and I laugh when they deliver them. We can't forget "A Christmas Story" too! We always watch that Christmas Eve - I found A Christmas Story monopoly game this year ;D

It is a winter wonderland here where I am and it is breath taking. The silence is so loud it is almost deafening. So beautiful.
