I am who set up the star system for the site. Here is the chart:
0 - 49 posts 1 star New Fan
50-99 posts 2 stars Just a Fan
100-249 posts 3 stars Big Fan
250-499 posts 4 stars Devoted Fan
500 and over 5 stars Obsessed Fan
Staff members can only have one level of assignment.... that includes the Admin, the moderators and any other assigned staff member groups.
I had to make the 18 and over group a staff member group to be able to password it for those 18 and over. So then that means that they cannot progress on the Rank list. To give them some stars, I assigned two but I can make them a different color I think to make them more attractive.
To advance in ranking the only choice is to come out of a staff member group. The only way to have the whole board on the same ranking chart is to eliminate the 18 and over section. If I remove the 18 and over section, then a whole lot of those threads will have to be removed to comply with the PG rating of the rest of the board.
I will abide by whatever the majority wants. So let me know. Do you want me to put up a poll to see if the majority wants to remove the 18 and over section or to leave things as is?

Frankly, I think leaving things as is would be more interesting, changing the color of 18+ stars could be nifty though

Uh . . . no . . Thank-you Cindy, but I would like things to stay exactly as they are.
Stars and ranking are kind of fun but they don't mean much to me - I know exactly how big a fan I am without them.
I just think it's funny that you can't move on once you head over to the gutter ;D

Thanks for that info Cindy, sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I wanted to change anything I really just wanted to know how many posts etc before you got however many stars, as I couldn't find the information anywhere.  |

Thats ok kiwi girl...no I did not take your inquiry as a complaint. I took it as an opportunity to post the rating scale since it really isn't posted anywhere else. Then if everyone is fine with the scale and the star system...I will just leave it as is.

Thanks for the info. on your star system. It is fine the way it is. I don't pay much attention to that part. We all just share the MARTY LOVE!!!!!!!! This is great to have a place to share this fine intense guy with! Keep up the Awesome work!!!!

Ok I have just figured out how to make the 18 and over group NOT count as staff. I made that adjustment. I still haven't figured out how to put them back on the number of posts rating for stars....but I will keep trying several things to see if I hit on something that works.
NEVER MIND! I broke the 18 and over section when I switched them off the staff designation. But I fixed it back. So they HAVE to stay staff to be able to visit that section. I just don't think I can do anything about the star rating for that group the way these are set up.
Sorry. I tried.

I agree with the ladies above. The number of stars posted don't really matter to me. I have all the stars I need right there in my eyes whenever I think about Mr. MC. Thanks for the info, though!

Even tho I have the mod status of stars...mine doesn't say 'devoted or obsessed fan' & really, I know how big a fan I am. That's what is so great about this board is everyone is so supportive & friendly with each other and stars or no stars we all have a love of MC in common!  |

I told Franny the other day that I thought the over 18 group could do just fine with 2....pomegranets!!! We are all just crazy enough to only need 2 of them....(I love her avatar of the pomegranet) One star, 2 stars, it just doesn't matter - we all just love Him!
