For everyone going to the big CD release weekend, here's some info on the location of the show on Sunday at BAM Fest, and some transportation options. You can take the Blue Line up to Wicker Park and get off at the Damen station, then take the #50 bus up to the festival at Belmont and Damen. There are also buses you can take the entire way. Google map it and click on the public transportation option to get more info on buses. And of course, there is always cabbing it. maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=329+N+Dearborn+St,+Chicago,+IL+60610+(House+of+Blues)&daddr=Belmont+and+Damen,+Chicago&geocode=Fb4ofwId_eDG-iGJgGHduAFtxw%3BFV7yfwId0SHG-iG6cm1itfXORQ&hl=en&mra=ls&dirflg=r&date=6%2F21%2F09&time=1:00pm&ttype=arr&noexp=0&noal=0&sort=&tline=&sll=41.914414,-87.653217&sspn=0.083031,0.120678&ie=UTF8&ll=41.914797,-87.653217&spn=0.083031,0.120678&z=13&start=0

hey Nancy....what is parking like in the area? We were planning on going to the zoo first and then the festival and then driving back that night. I'm afraid my little ones might be ready to pass out on the way home and dread the thought of having to carry them from bus to subway. When are you heading out to Chicago.....I'll try to call you sometime for last minute tips. Where are you guys staying?

I'm not familiar with the area, but I will be checking on parking before we head up there, since we plan to drive to the show that day. I'll post what I find out. I'll send you the other details in PM. See you soon, and congrats again!

you could totally luck out and happen upon a parking spot, but I really wouldn't count on it. Generally speaking, anything south of Belmont, I take public transportation cause parking could involve LOTS of driving round and round and then you end up parking a half-mile away anyway. Point of trivia, btw-- this is about 6 blocks due west of Schuba's, scene of the acoustic set on Live/Raw, if you want to do a little neighborhood exploring!

I contacted the festival organizers, and their suggestion was to park on the side streets. I'm thinking it would be a good idea to allow enough time to find parking before Holding Mercury goes on.

Marty said on stage that TBone wrote "Marty You Suck" on his set list! ;D Poor baby! He said "You bastards!" while laughing at T.

LMC, thanks for sharing your pictures. I can't get enough of this band. They are hot and a great band! Rachel, thanks for your review. I don't think I could mentally survive a full weekend of Lovehammers and especially Mr. Casey for an entire weekend, but I would sure like to try! What better way to go crazy I want to move to Chicago

BAM Fest, 6/21/09. Lovehammers were playing while sunset approached, so that added extra lighting effects. The guys played another high-energy show, and Billy was especially amazing! In between songs, he started running through famous riffs from other rock songs. Maybe they should do a few of those covers sometime—I’ll bet it would be terrific! I ended up moving around a lot for photos during this show, because a very large, very drunk guy parked himself and his cooler right next to where we were standing. He was loud, obnoxious, and did I mention verrrrry drunk—he wouldn’t shut up with the sarcastic comments about the band, and he could hardly stand up, although that might have been an excuse to hang all over every woman around. I left the area before I was tempted to let fly with a wicked elbow. The guys were having a lot of fun at this show. Marty made up some lyrics about the party bus and sang them on the spot, their friend Mike Sixx came up on stage to sing “Keep On Rockin’ In The Free World”, and he lifted Billy up and carried him around a little bit! Hilarious! Cousin Bill was on rhythm guitar again. Dino couldn’t remember whether it was Saturday or Sunday, so they were razzing him about that. When they asked him what day it was, he finally just said, “It’s the first day of summer!” What a great way to start the summer—with 4 excellent shows by Lovehammers in one weekend! Of course, it was also Father’s Day, so it was great to get to wish Dino and Billy a happy Father’s Day. And so one weekend ends, but it was just a few days of staggering through work in a sleep-deprived haze before……Another weekend, and another trip to Chicago for more great shows!

Haa, haa, I was also visited by Mr. leaning drunk guy. I was being patient because last I knew Nancy, you were behind me taking pics and thought it was you trying to get some shots, then I look back and see this greasy drunk guy bumping around. I look over and saw another guy in the audience eying him with that "get the "F" away and he moved on forward. And back to the Loved the fun energy of this show! Nancy, wish someone had caught Marty's little ditty about the bus ride, lol! Too funny!!! ;D

Great pics, Rachael. Thanks for sharing. I will not repeat what Nancy and everyone has said, it was a fun show. The guys were relaxed and playful. There were two creepy drunk guys bothering some HHs. The first was a really big guy that knocked me out of my spot near Duane and Nancy. He was loud and rude. The second guy was small and creepy and drunk also. He was the one bothering Rachael. Osrt of funny that we had no troubles with our rough, tough biker friends on Saturday night then the creeps show up at the arts festival . Oh well, I think we all had a great time and it was a fabulous show to end a fabulous weekend.
