Thanks for all videos, Rockfan!
That was an extremely fun show. Friday's show at the House of Blues was great, but I think all of the guys were a lot looser on Saturday (and Sunday), so there was a lot of really funny stuff going on, in addition to great shows.
Forgive me if it's already been mentioned, but during Real Man at the Freedom Run show, Billy was really getting into his soloing. Dino got one of those Dino looks on his face and came over and said something to Marty. Marty gave a smile and a nod and then put his mic on the stand. Marty motioned to Billy to take center stage, and then Marty and Dino left the stage entirely, as did cousin Bill, and also Bob. Billy looked equally delighted and chagrined to take center stage up there by himself to vamp for a minute or so. Bob came back first, and then cousin Bill, Dino, and Marty came back and finished the song to a mixture of laughing and dirty looks from Billy for having been abandoned up there by himself. At the end of the song, Marty said, "Dino, you're next!" ;D

Cool! Thanks both Tricia and Chelsea. For those of us who couldn't be there, this really helps!

Besides this show as being very fun and entertaining , it was also a very emotional one. I was tearing up when the Moms and Dads spoke about their sons killed in the war. It was very heart-wrenching to hear and they are the strongest people I know. Hats off to the Lovehammers for showing their love and support to these great people and great cause.

Pa LH got asked to come out and do another song, and Marty asked me what did I want to hear? Quick thinking, the first song that ever comes into my head that I absolutely adore of the LH collection is "Clouds". It has a very special connection in my heart. Good call Rachel!!! That is my favorite! Janell

Here's a few of the party bus exterior... "The Hammers" rode at the back of the bus... Another shot of the representations of the band... Erin's banner also graced one side of the bus...

I think this one must have been around the time the guys left Billy onstage alone... Billy ripped it up during "Real Man"...

Here’s my follow up to my previous post in the HOB thread. The day after the HOB show, Joan and I were going to do a Chicago bus tour, however, we had heard about the ‘trunk sale’ from our new LH friends, so we headed to Zebra Lounge at 1:00pm Saturday. We walked in, started looking at the very cool jewellery / sunglasses created by Marty, and in he walked. There were very few people there when he arrived so there was lots of time to chat. Liz (Bostongirl) very kindly introduced Joan and I as the Canadian visitors in Chicago for the first time. Marty was great, chatted with us about all kinds of things and posed for pictures with us. We bought a whole ton of stuff and stayed for drinks and chatted with many people. It was great!
The party bus was full for the Marseilles show that night, so we took a train to the airport, rented a car and drove over an hour to the festival. We beat the party bus (they went the wrong way and it took them 4 hours to get there – LOL) and were feeling pretty out of place. Lots of skin, tattoos and drinking going on there!! All of a sudden we saw a flash of purple beads and there were the girls from the bus – phew! We all hung out and waited for the LH to start. Right before them, Jessica Robinson (from Rock Star with Marty) and her band – High Gloss Black came on and they were really good. The LH arrived early and were hanging out behind the stage waiting for their 10:15 pm start. When it was time, they came on and it was like others have posted – amazing! Quite different from the night before… not so formal. The stage was not as big so Marty didn’t have the room to move as he did the previous night, however, he was still his entertaining self. He looked very relaxed and it was great when people went up to dance on stage. The songs were fantastic and they mixed it up a bit from the HOB show but I would have been just as happy to have it the exact same as the night before. We could have been right up front again but chose to stay back 4-5 people, just to have a different view and perspective. At one point, Dino whispered in Marty’s ear and then they (along with Bobby) got up and left the stage and left Billy up there by himself to do a guitar solo. Billy was caught off guard but pulled it off wonderfully. He told us ‘that was unplanned – they pulled a gag’… I love to see a band look like they are having fun and enjoying themselves as much as their fans, and these guys were all that and more. They did not sing Clouds at the HOB show or this show, until the host called them back for an encore. They didn’t know what to play and Rachael shouted out Clouds (thank you Rachael!!) so Marty got out his guitar and they sang it and I started to cry. That song has always had an emotional connection with me and hearing it live just put me right over the top.
After the show, they were just hanging out chatting with everyone. So very cool!!!!
The next day they were scheduled to do an acoustic show at the Best Buy at 1pm, so although we were flying home at 3:40 pm, we thought we would squeeze it in. When we got to the store, we realized they wouldn’t be starting until 2pm, and knew we could not stay…. Really disappointing!!! But we got to say goodbye to our new friends and do a bit of shopping. I felt a real low for the rest of the day and most of Monday… just an all over body hangover, like it was all too much to take in. Now that I’m home and downloading to friends and here on the board, I feel really happy and grateful to have had this experience and to have met such great people. When we booked our plane tickets, we thought we were going to see them at the HOB on Friday night only…. We were so lucky to meet Marty on Saturday at the lounge, and then get an encore performance Saturday night!! I’m looking forward to the next time we get to do this again!! I can see now how totally addictive it can be. Thanks again everyone and see you around the boards.

Great reviews everyone, I really LOVED the energy of this night. The guys were having a blast and the crowd was so into it. I think the crowd there had so much passion for the cause and it just seemed to carry over as the guys rocked it out. It was amazing!!! Lisa, I love your avi, the pic came out great! Glad to see you here and posting often too. Sounds like you are coming down from your hammer high, it does suck and can last a week or so! My best advise is you is You Tube my dear. Thanks for all the pics and vids...each time I go to Chicago, I forgot one thing; first year: hairspray, second year: curling iron, this year: a camera!!! Thankfully so many other hammerheads had this covered.
