Excellent show, and over 5000 people estimated there. Many new faces who were there for PWTs. LH made a great impression on them! This show was my 50TH LH show! Holy moley! (Not even counting LAG and Marty solo.) Getting caught in a downpour while the band was doing soundcheck was memorable, too. They started the show right around 7 pm, and LH finished about 8:10 pm. Set list: Straight As An Arrow Call of Distress Your Time, My Time Hold On Find Your Way Clinic Clouds Eyes Can't See The Tunnel Oh My Baby Trees This Town Guns Marty had the crowd sing Happy Birthday to his mom. Very sweet!!! Marty got down into the photo pit to sing, and also got up on the fence, with people holding him up. He did a really nice thing and stood on the fence right in front of me. I think he could see that I had been having a hard time trying to get photos, because of the ridiculous restrictions they had--no flash, and no zoom lenses. Although flashes were going off everywhere behind me, because I was down front near a security girl, she kept hassling me about even the little built-in flash, and about zooming with my small telephoto. I don't have the best batch of photos ever because of that, so I appreciated that Marty helped me out a couple of times by coming over close by. Although at first I was tempted to just give up and put my camera away, I decided that I wasn't going to let this get me down, and I did my best to find ways to still get some photos.

HI Nancy! Thank you for the review. Great turn out. Sounds like you had an excellent time, despite the hassle of taking pics. Can't wait to see what pics you post later. Glad the weather held out and it didn't rain, too. aloha, KP

[/IMG]
Yes, this was a BIG show, and there were so many teenage girls there for PWTs who ended up getting thoroughly "Hammered". The big group next to me started screaming and jumping up and down whenever Marty even looked their way, and when he leaned down and sang to them, I thought they were going to swoon! It was great to see! The band played to the audience by making it a high energy, very professional show. I am so proud of them! There was a loooong line for the meet and greet with the guys, and they were allowed to keep on having it while PWTs played. (Sometimes venues will end the opening act's meet and greet when the headliners come on.)

Thanks for the review Nancy. Wow, 5000 people! That's awesome. And young girls were excited by them (who wouldn't be). Nothing like a bunch a screaming teenagers calling radio stations to hear songs by certain bands, and spreading the word to their friends. Hopefully they will help us older fans (I'm referring to myself) spread the word about this awesome band called Lovehammers in other parts of the states. Congrats on 50 shows. How much fun has that been? I can only imagine, but if given the opportunity I would have been there too at all fifty.

This was the largest audience that I personally have been part of and it was amazing to see so many people rockin to Lh. We had a wet start But the sky finally cleared Marty was in great form and really played to the crowd. All the guys are sporting new hair styles but Billy's really stands out. Marty was up in the Trees for a while ANd then tried to stand on my head But finally found his way back to the stage I have to admit that I spent alot of this show laughing b/c the teenage girls went GAGA over the guys. It was great to see them go nuts and scream when Marty or any of the guys did something. 5000 screaming fans and one Mad Conductor. It was quite a special evening.

Great show at Morton in spite of the rain and a few other factors, and as BBE celebrated her 50th it was my 40th LH show. BG's umbrella shot above kinda captures the essence of the rain part....everybody was cracking jokes about it being Woodstock all over again and wondering if we'd have mudfights, etc. A couple times I looked back from the stage area and there was just this sea of colorful ponchos, umbrellas, and other assorted rain gear. The wild colors DID kinda lend a bit of a 60's atmosphere. But the music was pure NOW, great show !!! HH
