Hi Everyone!!!! I see we have some early arrivals to the party!!! I would like to take a minute to bring everyone up to date on where we are with our Kids See Stars 2009 project. This is our second year to hold a fundraiser to help bring music into the lives of children who have limited or no access to music programs. This year KSS has chosen La Casita House and the Association House as the beneficiaries of our fundraiser. The Association House provides after-school programs and has initiated a Rock Band music lesson program. La Casita House is a group home in Chicago caring for 8 amazing boys. These boys will receive music-related gifts, as well as become part of the Association House after-school Rock program. We are excited to be able to pay it forward to these very deserving children at both Houses. Our goal is to raise as much contributions as possible to ensure the continuation of the after school Rock Band Program and to ensure these 8 boys get to participate. We have been able to collect some equipment from local Chicago rock bands as well as local businesses. But we need more. We hope that everyone who can will want to contribute to this worthy cause. I am a true believer in paying it forward. Music has enriched my life beyond measure and I want to help young children experience the same. Chicago and its’ amazing bands and musicians have stolen my heart so I have chosen this wonderful city to support. It’s not too late to contribute. Go to www.kidsseestars.com to make a donation. Every donation counts in a big way!!! As part of this years project we also had Christmas cards signed by music fans around the world for the boys in the group home. I want to thank Jo, Dawn, Lisa, and Nancy for their efforts in collecting signatures and organizing this effort. Nancy had the opportunity to deliver the cards along with some stocking stuffers.
