To Dino, Marty, Bobby, Billy - I am so saddened by the loss of this special lady and friend to you - may you remember the good times always and know that there are a bunch of us sending loving thoughts and prayers to you and to Paula's family during this sad time.

Paula touched many lives--even those of us who hadn't met her. We learned a bit about this special woman by the devotion of her friends. I can only imagine the deep impact her passing has had on those close to her. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. Loving thoughts and prayers to you all.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of such a wonderful person. No I did not know her, but I hope marty and the guys and her family will stay on the bright side of her life. God had a bigger plan for her. God bless you all, and my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who knew her so well.

Our sincere sympathy to all of you and Paula's family and friends, our hearts and prayers are with you all.
I know there was a message from Miriam, Paula's friend that Cindy had posted about the 3 day Walk for the Cure in her thread, Hammerheads :: News from Paula's Good Friend, but I thought it might be helpful to post a little more info on the Komen Foundation in the hope that it might help others along the way.
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been working toward helping fight this devastating disease for 25 years now and their website is a wealth of information.
From the website:
One Person Can Make a Difference (We can all relate to this statement.)
This year, we celebrate nearly 25 years of patient advocacy, building awareness and investing $630 million in breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.
Hopefully it's okay to post this link here - it is very informative.

Thanks for the important link Treedom...
I am (eerily and coincidentally) another Paula who has been treated for breast cancer and is hoping they got it all. The news that Paula K. is now at peace in addition to seeing all the wonderful messages of hope, inspiration and love are very soothing today. She has certainly touched lives in ways she didn't even know (but can see now, no doubt!) People are forced to think about what is truly important in life when they see someone taken away too soon.
I can only hope to be loved as much and missed as much as Paula Kuchen when my time comes....and I hope the cure for this cancer crap comes sooner rather than later, not just for me and other hopeful survivors of this horrible disease, but for--sadly--most of our families who have either lost loved ones to cancer or who now live in grief because of it...
I am certainly not posting this for sympathy. (I'm still hoping I'm not going to have it come back.) I am posting this because I wholeheartedly believe in "life in action."
Donations to Susan Koman's Walk for the Cure are more than appropriate at this time, and I hope we'll see Mim's (Paula's friend) fundraising site quickly climb to reach her goal.
I want us Hammerheads to be a positive force, just like our beloved Marty and Lovehammers are....

Gingerpyle, thanks for such an eloquent and honest post. It certainly acts as a reminder to try to make each moment count ... which is so difficult on a day-to-day basis. It's unfortunate that it is often loss that reminds us of how precious life is.

I am very saddend by the sad news and my thoughts and prayers are with her family and close friends who are many of us hammerheads. I have also fought cancer in 2002 it was stage 111 Breast cancer and it was a very very hard time in my life with having two young children to think about so I did everything I could both chemo and natural things and so far I am cancer free today and now working on reconstruction of what cancer took from me 4 years ago. gingerpyle please pm me sometime and we can compare our experiences! I always find comfort with other cancer survivors, I thought about posting about this subject after marty left a message on the front page but I did not want to be a downer to people and I am really living my life to the fullest now and thats why I went to two lovehammers concerts and want to go to so many more, the guys make me feel so alive again. I love the lovehammers! Paula will be very missed but not forgotten!

I also didn't want to be a downer by saying 'me too', but I'm starting to think the guys are bringing people together who need to be. There is definitely something more going on in this community than a normal fan club, don't you think? Absolutely. Marty wants to be a force for good in the world, and I think he and the rest of the Lovehammers are generating something incredible here. I'm really thrilled to be part of a community of such wonderful people.

Having just recently lost my father-in-law to cancer, I am so sorry to read this news. My thoughts and prayers are with Paula's family and friends.
As for worrying about being a "downer" by sharing our own stories at a time like this, I think it's important to know that cancer does indeed touch many of us, and sites like this remind us we are not alone.
Peace, everyone.

My deepest sympathies to Paula's loved ones and positive thoughts to those of you battling this terrible disease. Let's all make a donation, participate in events and let those dealing with this in their lives know that the human spirit is alive and well and making a difference. Rest in peace Paula.
