The thing is is that there aren't many REAL stories from the night. Billy, Bobby and Dino played music all night and mingled a little. They did take requests. Billy played "Starlight Lady" for me. Bobby played Pearl Jam's "State of Love and Trust" for me. His Pearl Jam selection was limited. His buddy had uploaded thousands of songs to his i-pod for him and he wasn't even sure what he had. I remember Dino played a Culture Club song, which I totally loved! I believe Billy and Bobby were teasing him for playing that, but I told Dino I'd been a Boy George fan since I was little and have been to his concerts. One of them (I think it was Dino also) played George Michael's "Faith". That was fun too. Marty mingled all night. He did not DJ. If you made any effort at all, you could speak with each of the guys - as the others did come out of the booth from time to time and like I said, they took requests. It was a very small place. I think it was about half- filled with hammerheads and the other half had no idea who the guys were. There were TV's on the wall and during some of the time they were playing Live/Raw. One thing that I was excited to share is that Dino told me that he is playing at Memphis tonight. That's about it. Just a very laid back evening. No pics, no autographs, no meet and greet.

I was there, too. I had a great time talking with Hammerheads, knocking back a few (too many! ) brewskis , and talking to all 4 of the guys and to Mr. TBone! It was pretty neat! I can't believe they played Karma Chameleon. What a hoot! I told Dino that I wished I could go to Memphis, but I would at least be there in spirit. He said, "But you're here tonight, and tonight is really the start of Memphis. Yes, Memphis starts right here tonight, so you made it, and I'm so glad you're here!" (HUG) IS THAT SWEET OR WHAT?!?!?! Bobby had the key to his parents' house around his neck, so he wouldn't lose it, he said. ;D Billy seemed to enjoy being a DJ. He was smiling a lot. Marty was in the DJ booth only a couple times, briefly. It was so cool to be standing at the window of the booth while all 4 of them were in there, and watch their interactions. The way they could exchange just a few words, looks, or gestures, and instantly communicate, illustrates the bond between them all. They stood there as 4 close, long-time friends, all equal, not as big-ego rock stars. I can't even find words to describe this, but it made me smile, and was the highlight of the night for me. It also seemed like Marty was in a bit of a silly, naughty mood, and it felt like he was treating everyone there not as fans, but more like he would his friends. Some girl was dancing to some of the dance-music type stuff that they threw in a few times, and for a couple minutes there, I thought Marty was going to start bustin' some moves. I requested "How We Live", and they played it. It sounded sooo good, with Dino's bass coming through the bar's subwoofers. Oh, and I had a truly surreal moment when they put on the Live/Raw DVD on the house TV screens. The one above the bar was showing Marty performing in his #13 shirt, then I could simply lower my eyes from the screen to the bar, and there was Marty in person, in his offstage mode, talking to people at the bar. Whoa!!! That was a head trip!

It was neat to read your description of the guys in the booth, I can see why you were smiling...just love to hear about how well they get along - you just don't see that very often, if at all. You also solved the mystery of the key on Bobby's neck - guess he's a latchkey kid, too. ;D Thaks for sharing, Nancy...sounds like it was a great night to get hammered!

Here is a pic that was sent to me by another Chicago LH fan. She took it with her cell phone camera. You can see Bobby and Billy in the DJ booth:

It was good to meet you, BBE. Thanks for posting your story. Hi! It was good to meet you, too! Hey, I think that might be me in the cell phone pic you posted, standing there at the doorway to the DJ booth! It's kind of hard to tell for sure, but I was wearing black pants and a black and white striped long-sleeved shirt. That looks like my hair, and I think I might see stripes on the shirt. I did do some hanging out right there on and off thru the evening, talking to whichever of them were up there at the time. Hee hee--too funny!!!

From Elm Street Liquors on May 3. I took a lot of pics of Hammerheads there, and snapped a few of the guys only while they were actually DJing. I sent these to Dan to see if it was OK to post them, and he said it was, so here ya go: P.S.--My request for my posted photos: If anyone wants to move these to other boards or other posts, or copy them. I ask that you please leave my name on them. Thank you.
