help with site costs

This is so sweet that you guys all asked about this, and we appreciate it so much. However, by the nature of this being a fan site, we just can't take money for doing it. I didn't post the annoucement at the top about the bandwidth costs because we were asking for money. That was a situation that I wanted rectified because not only was it costing me money unneccessarily, it is also a matter of online ethics that I felt I had to address.

It is so appreciated that you asked, but no, we can't accept donations. However, there are a couple of things you can do to help with some of the site costs. Here they are:

1) Whenever shopping at Amazon or the Sony Music store, start your shopping by clicking on one of the site's links to those online shops. We are an Amazon a Sony Music Shop, and Itunes affiliate and the site earns a small % from sales made when they initate from the site.

2) At the bottom of each page of the message board is a text link that says "Click Here to Make This Board Ad-Free" It takes $7.00 to get 50,000 ad-free page views. We think the ads are annoying, distracting and sometimes outright inappropriate, so Amy and I have been paying for several months now to keep the board ad free. It goes through about 50,000 page views in about 72 hours, so some months it takes around $75 or more a month to keep it ad-free. If you want to buy a 50,000 page block occasionally to keep the board ad-free, that would be most appreciated. Do that by clicking on that text link at the bottom and following the directions.

Thanks again for supporting the site and for being here. It wouldn't be worth diddly without all the great fans here.

Oh my! You guys are the best. I see the ad-free fairy has visited the board and left credits under our pillow. Thank you so much... that helps a whole lot.

However, I will not apply the next 50,000 hit to the board until midnight tonight because a credit applied does not carry into the next calendar month. So sit tight, try to endure the ads for another 5 or so hours and we will be add free again!!

Thanks for the great job you have been doing. Yes, I did think of helping out so am glad to hear about the ad-free thing that we can help with. Will be checking into that soon. I don't mind shelling out the $7 once in a while if it means that we can all get our Marty fix in peace
