You've been to more Lovehammer's concerts this year than you have concerts in the last 5 years. This is definitely me! Although me & hubby are going to see Queensryche this Thurs. You are? Cool...you'll have to tell me all about it! We don't get to see them until November...but we're going to 2 shows.

When my family were on our way to Naperville my kids really thought Marty was going to be staying with us! I talked about going to Naperville to see Marty so much my daughter said "Mommy where is Marty going to sleep?" my husband and I just cracked up!

...one day at the start of the sophomore English class you are teaching you inform the kids they will be working on an artistic project for the day (working in groups to draw the chambers in the Masque of the Red Death by Poe) and you politely ask if they'd like to have some music playing relatively quietly (this is a class after all) in the background...YES, they squeal, in disbelief that their English teacher would suggest music - even though she says it has to be out of her collection - MUSIC IS MUSIC...and 'lo and behold what's in the CD player? Her Marty Casey and the Lovehammers CD, of course! Subliminal advertising works! By the end of the period one had migrated up to the CD player when the girls in his group told him he was not to do anything until they had sketched out the room. *wicked grin*

jessij, that's exactly how my friends are. They are not as crazy about the Lovehammers as I am, but most of them atleast know the words to Trees, but they can always recognize Marty's voice, or his picture.

they really should hire you RB - it would make touring with them so much easier for you!!
You tell everybody you meet a) your sweetie and Marty Casey look somewhat alike; OR b) they HAVE to check out Marty Casey & Lovehammers if they are fans of rock-and-roll; OR c) there's a picture of Marty (the eyef*ck during RS:INXS Creep performance!) on your wall and you keep staring into Marty's eyes!!

Oh Trees, Don't you know I torture them the other 95% of the time ? *or at least that's what they cry - "the tests are too hard" - "you're counting off for spelling errors!" ..."and grammar and punctuation mistakes too!" *...so I had to give them a "light at the end of the tunnel" * *Sorry, I just couldn't resist it...slaps hand...bad girl...cool it with the puns* Please forgive me, I had to work on a group project for my online course most of the afternoon *bleh* and two of our team members didn't report...and it was due at 5 p.m. TODAY Far be it for me to expect them to write properly in ENGLISH class. Note to all out in cyberland - it isn't short answer if you have to answer in complete sentences referring to the question - at least according to my sophomores. I just reply that's my short answer...that's the format...follow the directions. It's not an essay...that's on the next page. ;D I think tomorrow I shall have the sophomores read the story of the day (an excerpt from Don Quixote - yes, the one with the windmills) in small groups. It makes for a bit of noise, but they seem to get more out of the story that way than if I drone on and if I'm at the front of the room there's no chance anyone is going to offer to read in the peanut gallery. Even the one who had a 19 last nine weeks reads when we do small groups...and he actually enjoys it then. Plus, that will allow time for me to catch up on the mountain of paperwork that's been growling at me *so to speak* over the long weekend. I've also given several of them wristbands...I'm waiting on the next order to come in. It is ever so convenient that they happen to be Red & Black - that's our school colors...so it makes it very easy to get them to wear them all the time. I'll have to take a photo for the site the next time I do a distribution. Some saw my keychain and they play guitar so they begged every day until I gave them one. One wanted me to take mine off my keys...I told him no...and if you'll behave maybe I'll bring you one. *hehe* However, the most "cool points" I acquire with them come with my anime knowledge base and knowledge about "Family Guy", "The Boondocks", and pretty much anything Adult Swim. The looks when I first let a comment like, "I'm going to get you a necklace like Inu Yasha wears so you will SIT DOWN when I want you to", come out of my mouth - well, they're priceless. Especially when they are made to he who wants to be addressed as "Maggot". He and his friends immediately stopped talking, looked at each other, looked at me and raised an eyebrow, looked back at each other...and then promptly demanded, "How do YOU know about that!?!?!" One even mused in his mandatory journal about the "Family Guy" connection...He was wondering if I was the only teacher at our school who had a sense of humor since I seemed to be the only one who knew anything about "Family Guy". It's really just a sly way to get their attention...and it works...most of the time anyway. I was just thinking tonight that I may start leaving the business cards at restaurants with my tip for the waiter or waitress for the evening. Because one - you are sending out a positive vibe because you gave them money for serving you, and two - most of these waiters/waitresses/to go clerks (in these parts anyways) are high schoolers. I also got all the stores that gave me online surveys on my receipts last Friday. Some didn't have the CD So I told them so in the "What items were you unable to find?" section on each and every survey...and I got two for Target because I made a run for movies that were on sale early in the day and a Starbucks run later...got a survey on both...so Target got the double-whammy! The local group is packing boxes for the soldiers in Iraq on Dec. 2 and I wanted to grab some copies to put into the mix for overseas...I'll keep looking...if nothing else I may go to Barnes & Noble over the weekend. Peace.
