Hilarious! Sorry about the fall from grace Linda, but getting to be up on stage with Marty is well worth it. Just bring a pic of you and Marty and they'll all understand!
I unfortunately had to sit this one out due to my crappy middle management job. I vow not to miss Barrington.
Nancy BBE was sweet enough to cell cert me during Skinny White Guitar Player....cool song, sounds like Marty was really interactive with the audience and there was great energy between Marty and the crowd.
Wish I was There!

Oh my--I wasn't on stage ALONE with Marty!! There were others. Of course here at work I'm telling people I was accidently tripped and/or run into by some drunk chick. However, when I woke up this morning--from my 45 minute nap--I discovered another big bruise on my face, plus....a BLACK EYE!!!!! I look really bad!! I might just take a pic of myself and post it just for fun!

Oh Linda, So sorry to hear about your mishap. And this is the very reason that i do not jump up on stage... I have been known to trip over air currents I am such a klutz. Hope that you heal quickly. And hope that your presentation went well. I had the exact same thing in August. That was one long presentation for me Take Care, Liz

Hi Everyone, Well, I'm thinking a bit more clearly today after some much-needed sleep. I have no idea what happened to my pictures, but my camera--one of those mini digital camcorders--is brand new so I'm not a whiz with it yet, and I don't have a picture on it!! Makes me so mad because I was sitting about two feet away from the stage. My presentation--thanks to everyone for asking--was HORRIBLE. I had three co-presenters, thank god, but the comments on the evals were generally that my part was a waste of time (which I agree with). I just could not get my act together, felt sick all day, and after speaking to one of the docs I work with and reading up on concussion after I got home, I think that's what's wrong with me. At least, that's the story I'm stickin' to..... OK, never mind, I just watched the stuff on my camera--I DO HAVE VIDEOS!!! I just can't seem to get them on my computer. So, technical difficulties but I'll get that worked out and will get back to you!!!

Thanks for posting Linda. I am sorry you fell and I hope your next presentation goes better.
Can you answer some important show report questions for me?
What did he play? How long was the set?
What was Marty wearing? (Muy importante!)
How was his mood?
What was the crowd like?
Paint us a picture...

Hi Palari! Long time, no see!!
Marty was adorable, as usual! He seemed very relaxed, and I thought the crowd was great! There were just a few people that I knew, but Marty personally greeted probably everyone in the bar at one time or another. How many of them he knew previously I have no idea, but there seemed to be none of the frantic clutching or waiting kind of stuff that I've experienced before. He did seem to enjoy himself. As I said before, we met the one woman from Springfield, Erin, who was just thrilled that he was in her town and she was extremely excited. We got a chance to get to know the bartender a little before Marty got there, so tipped him off that her name was "Casey" (have no idea if that's the correct spelling), and that it was her birthday. She wasn't familiar with him and was scheduled to get off before his show, but we bought her some shots and convinced her she should stay. I know that he did mention her and her birthday during his set, but I don't remember exactly, because honestly, once he goes on everything sort of becomes a blur. I do know he looked great, had on a red tie against a dark (blue?) shirt and jeans with a jacket. I have three videos posted in youtube but they are really terrible. I'm certainly not a videographer. If I'd known the setup, I would have brought a mini tripod, which I could have set right on the bar. But as it is, I'm all over the place, and it's kind of painful to watch. But you're welcome to watch at your own risk. Just go to youtube and search lkmmom1952. Most of the videos are of my new grandson, but there are three of Marty--007, 008, and 009. Also, you'll have to depend on someone else for the full set list--Sorry.

Linda--HOLY MOLY, GIRL!!!! That was really scary to see you fall! You hit hard and didn't move for a few seconds, and everyone was just frozen in shock at first, thinking you were knocked out, or worse. I was so relieved that you weren't hurt any worse than you are, and I wouldn't be surprised if you do have a concussion. Please take it easy for a few days. I'll be back shortly with the set list. I picked it up after the show and asked Marty if it was OK if I kept it. He said it was, so I'lll post a scan of it. I did take photos, not a huge amount, but some. I'm just now off to send Cindy the shots from the photo shoot I did with Marty in Tolono. I think you all will enjoy them.

That is so awesome, and raising money for charity--even better!!! Marty had on the grey plaid pants he wore at the Earth Day show in April. They are so sharp, and he even had color-coordinated argyle socks on! Now THAT is a sharp-dressed man!

OK, here is Marty's handwritten set list. It's more like a menu of songs to pick from, broken down into categories. The songs he actually played, as best as I can remember, were: Mr. Brightside (started with this one) The rest are not in order: Hit Me Baby Lithium Tunnel Call of Distress Hold On I Alone WYWH (he was joined onstage by a guy from Dogs Divine to sing backup) Can't Always Get... Never Tear Us Apart (he does an INCREDIBLE job on this! This is probably my favorite INXS song.) Skinny White Guitar Player Just Go Hopes and Fears Creep Be The One (?) There was one song I didn't know at all, so it might be this one. TreesHe was in a great mood and having a lot of fun. Lots of interaction with the audience, and stories between songs. His voice sounded so good! I must also say that his guitar skills are progressing quite a lot, too.

"Seasickness" is the perfect word!! Meanwhile, my other other warning might be to never get on stage with Marty. However, some of you may be old enough to remember the old Taryton (sp?) cigarette commercials where an actor/actress had an eye blacked out and the slogan was "I'd rather fight than switch!" Well, If I didn't look so awful, I might use this as my new avi, along with a pic of Marty--my caption reading of course--I'd rather fight than switch
