I'm actually contemplating flying in for it. Something like a 2 hour flight. I would just have to figure out how to get from the airport to show. Never been to IL.

SOOOOOO sweet, and he's just running and climbing everywhere, the little monkey! He'll probably be hanging out with daddy at gramma's during this show-- my mom's right down the street from the venue!

Oh how I wish I could go.... but not gonna happen in December. I hope they come up with another great weekend in Chicago next spring and I'll fly in for that!

Hey Lisa they mentioned on FB that there will be shows Feb. 12-14. I think I will now pass on this 1 show in Dec. & shoot for 3 in Feb. Makes more sense to fly out for more than one for me. Although weather-wise flying from Newark to Chicago, may suck.

Yes, I saw those shows and for sure, it would be great to go when there is more than one show to see - the CD release party in Chicago in June surpassed all my expectations! Unfortunately (or fortunately) DH and I are heading to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico first week of February with NO kids :-) so you can see that a trip to Chicago right after I return is not gonna fly. Oh well, life and reality always seems to get in the way of my LH world. :-( Hopefully they'll come up with something in the Spring / early Summer and I'll be there for sure.

::crickets:: sitting here all alone, no one's on the phone, guess I'll go to bed, with LH dreams in my head, and wait for those who've gone, to come along back home, to tell me all I missed, and everyone Marty kissed. Can't wait to hear how this show was!!!!

What a great show! They played for over 2 hours, and threw in some fun surprises. I never thought I'd hear Lovehammers do "Blister In The Sun"!!!!! And Billy even sang a song called "Bad Luck". :-) They did the "Tricky/25 Or 6 To 4" break in the middle of "Low Life Insurance". "Loaded" was excellent live. I got a set list. I'll post more tomorrow.....got to sleep now.

Ok all- Just got back from the fabulous Lovehammer show last night-absolutely spectacular. The following is the set list (I nabbed a copy Some they didn't play and they added a few so if I'm in error, feel free to correct! Black Angel Tunnel Hold On Your time, My Time Find Your Way C.O.D (didn't play) Neverfall Straight as an Arrow Riddle (didn't play) Loaded Eyes Can't See Clinic Bad Luck (sung by Billy) Oh My Baby (didn't play) Heavy Crown (didn't play) Driving Blind (didn't play) Wasted (with Tricky) Guns Disconnected This Town Clouds Trees Blister in the Sun (yep, by the Violent Femmes) Ring of Fire Baba O' Riley It was a two hour magical journey I must say. Somehow, I managed to nab a front row spot next to some truly fabulous fans (Nancey BBE and Hy-I saw you both but didn't get to say hello). My neck is sore and my voice is hoarse, but it was worth every ache! Billy did a really great job on his first lead soloist try, with Marty accompanying on guitar. They were teasing each other about having to adjust microphone heights to play in each other's spots. Marty gave a really nice shout-out to Bobby also for 'Find your Way'. They had 'Heavy Crown', 'The Riddle', and 'Driving Blind' on their set list also, but didn't get to those. I was sad not to hear them, but it's the first time I got to hear 'Clouds' live so that pretty much made up for it! The guys seemed to be having so much fun. Marty called several people up on stage to thank them for their support throughout the years-one guy was the athletic director from his high school (I think) who looked a whole lot like Santa, which of course, Marty pointed out. It was cute, but really, what isn't cute about him? Really loving his new haircut........ Blister in the Sun was a total surprise-I think they did that one off the cuff--Marty was teasing Billy about showing off his guitar finesse and he started in with the chords to Blister....the rest of the guys picked up and went with it-it was hysterical! My hubby saw Billy mouth the chord names to Dino when he was trying to figure out where to start. Ring of Fire was cool-edgier than the original-I didn't even recognize it when they started it at first. Baba O'Riley was a nice end to a great show-and Marty mentioned that he might pretty much pass out from exhaustion before finishing the song....I guess two hours of massive exertion will do that to a rock star! All in all, it was a superb show. I took pictures but the quality isn't so hot, so I'm hoping to see lots of pics on the board! My hubby and I had a great night away, and I took home several picks, the set list, and one of Bobby's drumsticks as souvenirs for my boys. It continues to amaze me that somehow, some way, Marty seems to connect with each person in the room at some point in the night (he managed to connect his feet with my fingers quite often, but I guess that's the price I pay for putting my hands on his stage!) The energy in the room was amazing, and as usual, Marty was just mesmerizing . I really hope to see many of you at Hammerfest in February!

Janell, I didn't take photos at this show. It was my night to hang out with my friends who flew in, and just get totally into the show. What a show to do that at! Liz (bostongirl) and Janet (ycakins) and I had gotten to Chicago on Thursday, and had spent the next 2 days visiting businesses to fundraise for Kids See Stars. We were joined on Saturday our 4th Elf, Duane (Hammeredham). We got to celebrate some very good fundraising results, as well as Liz's birthday, at the show! Shelley, I think they did play Call of Distress, and somewhere during the last few songs, they also played Merry Merry Christmas (actually Marty, Billy, and Bobby only). It was really nice to hear that one again! Edited to add: Shelley, that's neat that you called the show a two-hour journey, because that's exactly the same thing I said to my friends at breakfast--that one of the things I like about LH shows is that they take you on a musical journey. This journey passes through many different emotions, sounds, and experiences, and they don't need special effects to do it. Just by their music, their performances, and their ability to connect to the audience, you ride on the wave of it all, like a thrill ride at an amusement park. Only this is so much better, because it lasts a lot longer.

You're welcome, Brenda! I wish you could have been there, too. It would be so cool to win the lottery or something, and bring all Hammerheads to a show at the same time.
