I decided to backup my PM messages for some reason. I did what it said on the Backup PM screen. I waited and nothing happened on that screen, so I went to the PM inbox screen. I think I waited about 2 minutes before exiting the Backup screen, but I'm not sure.
I did get the PM that said:
Your personal messages are available to download from the Personal Messages Backup page.
When I clicked on the PM Backup link it took me back to the original backup screen which showed this at the bottom:
“Your backup is not yet available. You will receive a PM when your backup is complete at the bottom of the page.”
I’m wondering what I did wrong. What should I be seeing when I click on the “Personal Messages Backup” link? Are my messages going to be wiped off in a week or can I have something reset and give the backup another try?
Appreciate any help on this – thanks much!!

Weird...I've backed up my messages before, I don't remember having that problem. I suggest waiting a day or two, then trying again if you don't get another PM. On Edit: I did just try backing it up, and it gave me the same message you did.  |

Thanks, Fly. I've never tried backing up messages before, so I assumed it was something I did wrong. I don't even know why I decided to do it tonight.
I'll wait a bit like you suggest and then I'll see what the mods say.

All sounds cool Red. You opened a Zip file yes? It'll take a day or two for you to be able to pop in there and get it, but you'll get a message within a couple days, here in your PM box, that shows your backup is ready to download. All ya gots to do is back it up then. Anytime then you want to read a message, you go into that zip file, and it's saved there. Now remember, you can only get into that file one time every 30 days. It's a safe and easy way to just save your PM's. No worries. It's doing what it's suppose to. Nancy  |

And no, you can't reset them once this is done, they are zipped. I think. Soon, all the PM's will be looking a bit different and easier to use and save. Hope this helps some. Nancy  |

I was looking for a zip file on the PM Backup page, but I didn't see one. So it takes a couple of days for this zip file to get PMd to me? I'll be patient.  As long as I didn't screw up. Yes, and when you see the prompt to accept the WinZip or something like that, go ahead and accept it ok? And yes, it'll take another couple of days to complete. Is all cool beans red, it'll work, and I'm sure you'll be fine as gravy.....  ....or is that smooth as gravy? Either way, keep us updated here when you get that notice ok? I'm being patient, but part of me is askeered and wants to go and check all my PMs for important info like phone numbers and stuff - because I think all my PMs are going to get zapped any second!
