Hey Aussgals, I've been trying for a couple days to post. My
server was almost as ill as
Rockbeast.....it was so
awesome to finally meet my "little bro" Scott. I love that pic chk
with all of us.
Wow
chk....I love your pics.
Chicago was windy? Really? I didn't even notice. ;D
Actually, there was one point when Ing and I were trying to
cross the street from our trip to the Magnificant Mile when a gust
of wind was so strong we could not stop for cars. We were
blown across the street...luckily the car stopped...and the wind
almost ripped the shopping bag right out of her hand.
Here's a not so windy day on the Magnificant Mile with Dani and
Peter.
Palari, V and Kiwigirl. Hope you are all ok after
the earthquake off of NZ. When Ing, Dani, Peter and I were in
Borders bookstore in Chicago we thought we were feeling an
earthquake and then blew it off .... must be the L train.
Hi
raisondetrewenpigsfly.org/smileysigns/smiley.php?text=Welcome to the Aussie Thread!!!&smiley=bye&fontcolor=000000&ss=1&font=&shadowcolor=&signcolor=&ext=.gif[/img] Thanks for the perfect birthday wish.
and thanks so much everyone for all of the wonderful birthday
wishes.
All the pics on the boards are so ...
Here is a pic after Dani and Ing gave Marty the Aussie bag.
Thanks to Claudia for taking the pic.
The days went so fast and were such a blur. When I had to leave
it was tears and hugs from Ing and me and then Dani reminded
us that we would all be getting together again soon in
Melbourne. Tears still came, but it was comforting. I know now
how wonderful it is going to be for so many of us to finally meet
in December. We all agreed that we were exactly as we had
imagined. Peter was such a good sport with all of this. He is a
doll. Chris and Liz had such a blast meeting everyone and
especially the "Quality time" with Dani's husband Peter.
I'm still pretty wiped out....not much sleep the past week. Here
are a few of my favorite moments together.
Favorite Peeks Line:The morning after Hammerjam
Peeks:
What is it called when...uh... you are so wiped out...
and you feel like..uh... absolute sh*t? Ing:
Hungover?Peeks:
Yes....that's it...I feel hungover. Here's a pic of the morning after. On the end are my son Chris
and daughter-in-law Liz.
A Favorite Marty Moment:Ingrid and I were at the bar next to the Metro. The place was
packed. We couldn't find Dani so we decided to go up the stairs
exiting the building. We were the only ones on the stairs when
we looked up and at the top of the stairs was a beaming Marty.
Marty:
Are you leaving?Ing:
No, we are looking for Dani.Marty quickly makes his way down the stairs, grabs Ing around
the waist and gives her a kiss and then was off on his merry way
to greet the other fans inside.
A Favorite Ing and Den Moment:We were at the Elm Street Bar. We were all having such a great
time meeting all of the other fans and of course meeting Billy,
Marty and Rita. Billy played Wolfmother and all of a sudden Ing
yells out "Den, it's Wolfmother!!!!!!" and we both hugged
and whooped it up in excitement.
You would think Wolfmother was in the bar with us.
We could see that Marty was looking at us.
Must have thought we were crazy.
A Favorite Message Board moment with Ing and Peeks:It was our first message after meeting Marty at Elm St. We really
wanted to let him know that we would love for him to come to
Hammerjam II. With very little sleep and a bit too much to drink
we were struggling to think of what to say on Marty's MySpace
page. It was so surreal because it was hard to believe that we
were sitting beside each other in front of the same computer
monitor when normally we are thousands of miles apart when
we post on the org.
Peeks:
What should we say?Peeks:
How about, "We wanna make it happen"?There is only one computer on each floor of the hotel. In walks a
very determined businesswoman with her briefcase in hand.
Businesswoman:
Do you know how much longer you will be?
I have a presentation in the morning.Peeks:
About 10 to 15 minutes?Businesswoman:
Peeks:
Ok...where were we?Peeks:
Do you think we should use the word "wanna"? Businesswoman:
Den:
Sure...you are in America now. Ing:
That's fine. Peeks:
Wanna? Wanna, shoulda, coulda? Businesswoman:
Den:
I think it's perfect.Ing:
Yes, perfect.Peeks:
Should we add anything else?Businesswoman:
Den:
Nope, less is more.Ing:
I think that is good.Peeks:
Are you SURE we shouldn't write something else?Businesswoman:
Peeks:
Then it's "We wanna make it happen". That's it.Peeks:
Well, I guess I'll hit SEND then.Businesswoman:
Are you done?Peeks:
Yes. I think so. Businesswoman:
Thanks!!! Hey
Gaia. Here is a pic of one of your tatoos. We put them
on while we were waiting in line to get into the Metro. Dani had
a bottle of water. There were several people around us that
asked for the tatoos too.
I'm sure I'll remember more "favorite moments" later on. I was
just up letting my dog Oscar out. While I was unpacking today, I
made the mistake of leaving my suitcase open to make a call.
When I came back, Oscar had finished off a box of chocolates I
had bought in Chicago. Ing and I (both chocoholics) had only
eaten about 3 pieces out of the small box...so I was a bit
worried how he would react. So far all that I have seen is him
licking his lips now and then and his paws as if he is trying to get
the very last bit of chocolate. It was kind of cute to see the
chocolate grin on his face, yet at the same time wondering if he
was going to have an adverse reaction to chocolate the way
some breeds do.
What a magical time. What an amazing birthday.
Again thanks Helen, V, Palari, lilucy, Natasha, gaia, raisondetra,
sozl and anyone that I missed for such warm birthday
wishes.
Another pic of the show....sorry a bit blurry and forgot to use the
redeye feature on my camera....and I'm much shorter than my
BFF Chk so I also get backs of heads in the shot.
