David Lee Roth confirmed on his radio talk show this morning that the new season of Rock Star WILL be "Rock Star Van Halen"....... I will watch the show to see the new crop of talented singers but to me in my honest opinion its just not Van Halen with out David Lee Roth..........

hehehe. Trees and i had a funny what if it is RS:VH thread a long while back. I seem to recall us pondering whether there would be a hair/spandex requirement for the new memeber of Van Halen.

How about assless chaps like DLR used to wear. I got dragged to a Van Halen show back when they toured for the 1984 album. I was shocked to see DLR with assless chaps on stage. I wonder if they'll go for someone with the original DLR Van Halen sound or go with someone that sounds like Van Hagar.

hey guys, just curious...How do you think Marty would have presented himself IF he had been on this show instead of Rockstar:INXS? Do you think he would have "evolved" the same as he did for INXS? Van Halen is much more rock, and therefore could Marty have been more "roit for the band"?

Didn't Marty address something close to this issue right after the show in an interview when he discussed his range. He seemed to think the key he sang in wasn't as conducive to Van Halen or other bands as it was for INXS.
But I have to admit, I would love to see him doing a Van Halen thing. Just for the eye candy. I bet he could sing rings around most of the other contestants too.

I agree Cindy...Marty has the charisma (ultimate eye candy) and onstage drama capability to rock hard!!! ...and he would definitely stand out, again, among these next contestants I bet!!! As far as his singing range...he adapts well don't you think, and would have made it work for Van Halen just like he evolved to fit in with INXS!!! Oh well, in the end, he still belongs with his Lovehammer brothers...Wouldn't it be nice if they could perform on this next show....it would be so great to see a closeup of those hypnotic eyes on TV again!

...and maybe this next show will give us another chance to watch a beautiful and talented rock god or goddess evolve for all of us to enjoy. It helped us to find the Lovehammers right?

If this info came from DLR, I will believe it when I see it. I seriously doubt that he has any clue as to what VH are doing.

Really! I totally agree Forest.... I am a DLR fan from the VH days, but that man has a tendency to run at the mouth sometimes.... LOL!

I agree, but am really interested in seeing how Van Halen will come out. Who knows what will happen. Yeah David Lee Roth is defiently one of a kind in his own "out there" way, but hey its good! Excited to see what turns up!

I actually wish VH would just stay with Sammie. I am a old school VH fan, but I learned to love Sammie. They toured with him last year (didn't come to Long Island!) why not just go on with it?

Hi all, I'm glad this has been confirmed in the USA as we were told in Australia and I posted on Dec 2nd 2005 in the Off Topic thread that this was the case. I am personally really looking forward to it. I think this is a first, us Aussies actually knowing something about a USA TV show before you guys in the USA. Maybe we are finally catching up Nope, I don't think so, just look how far behind we are with shows like LOST, Stargate, Desperate Housewives, etc etc. Cheers, Hel

Bern longisland, It's actually Sammy (Hagar) & he did a tour with VH I believe it's been 2 years ago now. It was a great show. Eddie continued to be a dick, so Sammy has stated that he's done with VH. At the last show on that tour Eddie made some jealous comment about Sammy onstage then proceeded to have a hissy fit & broke his guitar in a rage. Sammy & his band, the Waboritas, have made several cd's in the last few years & tour every year. Please check out www.redrocker.com.

I saw Donny Deutch interview Mark Burnett and Dave Navarro yesterday on a show he was doing about realty tv.
Donny told Dave that heard it had been confirmed that Van Halen was going to be the band for this summer's Rock Star.
Dave told him "That's very interesting but untrue".
I'm wondering if he is telling the truth or just trying to keep the interest going a little more.
Just thought I'd share....

Here's a link to Dave Navarro's website where he mentions that all the rumours flying around about the new Rockstar are inaccurate. www.6767.com/

first i think rock star inxs was one of akind and will never be duplicated with rock star anything. the group of people were perfect together they mad a real connection. second i loved david lee roth in van halen they also can never be dupicated because there sound was one of a kind third even though i loved david i hate his radio show (sorry) i think it would be embarrasing for him to be replaced on national tv while doing a crappy radio show he was so high and now hes so low fourth its funny that when i first saw marty he reminded me of david lee well any way if that is the next show regardless i am sure i will check it out
