RS:Supernova Wk 5 Reality, Performance and Elim.

I think everyone is right on with their predictions, but I have to say that I would love to see a double ousting this week, Z-chick & Jill need to go. I think Josh did good with sublime, and won't make it to the end, but he doesn't annoy me like the other two. Dana, still isn't great, but man at least she is trying, and Ryan blew me away this week, I hope he gets the encore. Just my 2 cents!

I know this may not be the most popular opinion here but I have to say it...
I like Jill. I think she has one of the most powerful voices on the show this year and I think that Supernova and Dave are complete to her.
I also like Z. By no means is she a great performer or singer but she is interesting and fun to watch. She is not afraid to be different and that is a quality that I have always admired because that is something that I have never been able to do.
Storm, well, she is growing on me. Week after week, I like her more and more. I am so glad that she showed a softer side of herself last night. I get tired of that tough girl thing she does every week.
Patrice, in my opinion, she tried to be like Storm in weeks past.
Dana has really impressed me the past 2 weeks. I think she found her niche finally.
Josh... blah! Go home!
I think Ryan is a jerk for the most part but good lord he was great last night. This is the only performance I have liked by him. His pissed off look really worked for him this time.
I really love Toby but I have forgotten what he sang last night. All I know is if that girl was not a fan of Toby before that, then she is now.
Magni is usually forgettable.
Lukas is probably one of the best overall. I don't care too much for him. Last night he was boring though. And I think he has ADD.
Dalana is my favorite. She just kills me every week. Again, like Z, she is not afraid to be different. But she also has such a big heart. That really comes across when she speaks about others. And even though she has crazy hair and too much metal in her face, she is beautiful.

Wow! I did not really mean to comment on everyone but... there it is.

Vickie, your not alone with the Jill opinion, my husband said the exact same thing last night. Even though I think she can sing, I just keep getting the feeling that she is phony, thats why I don't like her. Z-chick is another my hubby agrees with you on lol. Some of her songs have been ok for the Missing Persons type of music, and is entertaining to say the least, but if they want a lead singer, I can't say that she is it. I really enjoy Dalana is my fav. and I find myself looking forward to her performances.

Jill can sing, but she doesn't have a lot of artistry. She didn't understand the subtly of that song. She oversang it just like they said. I think it's a height issue. She's short and thinks she has to sing big to get noticed. And, she is annoying.

I'm backstage at CBS waiting to get going on today's elimination show. My money is on Jill or Zayra to go, but you never know, it might be time for Josh to go into his Hootie phase and hit the road. After watching the show last night, I really think Patrice is in danger too. She just didn't sound so good on TV, plus she was super overshadowed by T Lee. In the studio when these guys are singing live, there is a lot of latitude in terms of sonic forgiveness. It always sounds better in the studio than it does on TV. The room sound, the live band and the PA all contribute to a better and fuller sounding performance. As for Zayra, we all know she is totally not right for the band, but I am starting to look forward to what the hell she is gonna do for each performance. It's almost like we get a ten car pile up on stage on a weekly basis. She is kind of like the comedic intermission entertainment.

Lukas - just bad. Face the crowd already. And I like him, I really do.

Jill - great voice, but has no idea how to use it or how to move on stage.

Dilana - good, but not as good as she has been.

Bottom three: Josh, Jill and Zayra.

Well, I enjoy the hell out of Zayra...so she stays as far as I am concerned. She seems fearless and does bring out something different everytime. She may not be right for SN, but I would turn on the TV to watch her.

Neither Toby or Josh did much for me this week. And I wasn't as blown away by Ryan as so many seem to be. I have seen that type of performance on that very song several times before...so it didn't surprize me or make me notice him any more than before.

I just didn't follow Magni and why folks thought that was so particularly great. His vocal sounded off to me.

Jill did oversing and overvamp. And Lukas stumbled too. I liked Storm doing Changes.... Patrice looked like she was having fun...but didn't stand out and Dana seems to think that nose wrinkle and sneer makes her a rocker...so I worry that she is just pretending and not really feeling it. Dilana sounded fine.... but she has had better stage presence in the past.

I thought this overall was one of the worst weeks in the competition so far. Nothing blew me away. Nothing even moved me enough to go vote. This is the first week I did not vote at all!

Much better performances by most of them. Lukas, though, is getting kinda boring. Only seems to have one voice. My pick for the bottom three:

Zayra
Jill
Patrice (but she CAN sing but not a good match up for SN)

PS - I thought Magni and Ryan had the best performances of the night.

That's what I'm thinking. Clips of Zayra’s crazy outfits and weird performances always seem to make it onto the end-of-week shows, like “The Soup” (which, BTW, is my absolute favorite). Sure, they’re making fun of her...but it also generates publicity for the show, and for Supernova.

I think it will be Jill or Josh that goes home tonight.

I thought last night was the best so far. The lighting was great. This is the first time I felt like I just had to hear the performances once again. Well actually only three of them. Ryan, Magni and Storm. I was impressed by all three.

Patrice: She is so over doing it. The hair was ridiculous.

Lukas and Dilana: I like them both but I wish both of them would listen to the vocal coach already. Especially Lukas.

Josh: I liked it. He'd do great with a solo career.

Zyara: I get a kick out of her. In rehearsals it sounds so awful but when she gets on stage it's not nearly as dreadful as I predicticted. My hubby has a theory about keeping her around. If they ever get two people they like with Z in the bottom. They can always vote her off, 'cause we all know she's always in the bottom three.

Dana: meh getting better though

Toby: Vocally I thought he did great and I loved his emotion but then Ryan blew him out of the water and raised the bar.

Magni: I like him. I like his quiet confidence and his voice.

Ryan: I voted for him and replayed his performance twice last night.

Storm: She is such a professional and she's really beautiful. She was fantastic.

Jill: b' bye I had such hopes for a fellow New York chick

Toby Goodonya Mate - thought he had more potential but he's getting boring. He'd have been good for INXS.

Dilana Wild Child who Sets off the Metal Detector - great voice, fun to watch, powerful personality ... I can see her fronting them and not being intimidated. She can actually upstage TLee.

Zayra Spicy Spanish Fly - they keep her around for the yuk factor ... I can't listen to her but she is bizarrely entertaining ... I loved Dave's reaction last night! I didn't erase the show from my DVR, just because I want to see that again. Hilarious.

Ryan Surly Piano Man - did a good performance last night, but he's a jerk.

Lukas Skunk Hair - what was that crap about turning his back on the audience? A major disappointment. I really expected more from him.

Josh Soul Man in Training - chill with the stupid hat, dude. But he has a decent voice ... just not "roit" for this band.

Storm Giant Bug Eyes - well, I guess that's not fair of me. She kept her eyes in their sockets last night, and did a decent job. But I don't really like her. She's this year's Suzie. Can sing, but something about her makes me want to smack her.

Magni Ice Man - seems like a really nice guy. But bald is wrong, wrong, wrong for SN. He's perfect for an Ice Blue Man Group. I think he should go home and hang with the wife and that adorable kid.

Patrice Phony Punk Goddess - bitch. Period.

Dana Trying Too Hard to be Tough Rocker Chick - a friend of mine said for her next performance she should bite the head off a bat. I think for her next performance she should drink a whole bottle of Southern Comfort. On stage. All at once.

Jill Princess Never Shuts the Hell Up - 'nuf said.

Wouldn't that be funny eh? Jill, Zayra and Josh all going home tonight! Haha. Well I agree with you guys. I don't think any of those 3 could front Supernova! To tell the truth... I can't even picture any of the contestants left fronting Supernova... Maybe Storm or Dilana.

Anyway, I really hope Patrice goes home sometime soon too.. She really gets on my last nerve!
