From Dilana's Myspace: myspace.com/dilanarox Monday, September 25, 2006 Feels like forever! Hi friends! Well, I can't believe that it's almost 2 weeks since the show has ended! I feel like I've climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in this short period! So much is going on!! I already have great manager, a kick-ass publicist, a lawyer, a super drummer and an AWESOME fan base! Tomorrow, I'm meeting with a business manager to take care of me and my very poor money skills..I'm THE worst at that! Last night I met with the 3 Days Grace producer who's in from Canada. He's a cool guy and I feel a good vibe with him so we're going to attempt writing a tune or 2 together! Same guy who wrote "I hate everything about you". Also, I've been working with 3 young and very talented dudes from Seattle! Together, we've re-worked SUPERSOUL and now...the song has a SUPERsoul! Aiming at laying it down in the studio next week yeehaa!! So soon it'll be available to you all along with Roxanne, accompanied on acoustic guitar by Magni, fresh in from Iceland!! I have Adrian from No Doubt doing all the drum trax so needless to say, I'm over the moon! It's crazy trying to keep up with all the myspace comments, msgs, blogs, my fan site, my e-mails etc...I'm desperately tring to catch up in order to keep up haha! Plz be patient guyz, I'm trying hard to stay in touch and personal! Believe me, it's so important to me to be "close" to you! Oh a bit of useless info..I have decided that I have a new pet peave...I can't stand "wanna-be-gay-people" who pretend it just to be cool and hip! That's all. I'm slowly but surely getting to know my way around this crazy city - having fun getting lost once a day lol! Tomorrow is my very 1st official, paid for, vocal lesson with Lis Lewis (coach from the show)! I love her and am very excited to learn more about my instrument! I hung out with Lucas last night, he bought me dinner!! He's life is as hectic as mine but he's doing well and hanging in there. Poor guy is still living in a hotel urrghhh...Saw Toby's band from Aussie - crazy bunch of boys! Storm is in LA to sing at the Contender finale (another CBS show about boxers). So, 2 more sleeps before we leave for Iceland!!! It's going to be a very busy but amazing long weekend! Our (supposed to be) ONLY show, sold out in 90 min's!! Over 2500 tickets sold! So, due to demand, we've booked a 2nd show in the same venue and it's almost sold out too! I can't wait to sing for and party with those insane Icelanders - love em! Can't wait to see Magni again! Check out his' fan site and send him some love www.magni-ficent.com My apartment is such a mess! I STILL haven't unpacked all my bags! Half living out of a suitcase lol! I really feel like a bachelorette these days! It's good to be free and independant, it's what I thrive on! Thanx to so many of you for buying my OLD CD, Wonderfool. It was recorded in 1999 in Holland and released by an independant Dutch label. Check out www.redbullet.nl It's very different from what I do these days but still worth a laugh! I have NEVER made a single penny off the record as they have been re-cooping the advances all these years. Knowing that the CD is now selling gives me a sense of relief and hopefully one day, I won't "owe" the label anything anymore phew... Many people are asking about merchandise. Plz be patient folks, we are working on everything and there's ALOT to do. We're going to build a sweet website with ALL my cool merchandise on it with an on-line store. The best thing to do is keep checking myspace for future updates and announcements! We are very serious about my career and everyone is excited and eager to get the ball roling! I had a horrid mini microwave pizza for dinner and a glass of cheap red wine...sounds like a song in the making lol! Just thought I'd share that with you! Well, I'm sure there's alot more to say but I'm not going to bore you any further! In closing...as always, your love, support & belief are my fuel - THANX so much! Dilana PS: Thanx for all the gifts and for the offers to help me ship my bike out here! Got it all under control!!

So many rockstars in a same place - and Iceland of all places, I think Marty would use the word Phenomenal

Here's a recent article on Dilana that mentions our boy Marty.
Dilana re-starting career with push from 'Rock Star' By Alan Sculley Special to The Morning Call (Pennsylvania) When Dilana Robichaux got the call to audition for the television series ''Rock Star: Supernova,'' it came as a complete surprise.
''When I got the call I had forgotten all about the fact that I had sent in my demo,'' says Dilana, who only uses her first name professionally. ''I had already booked a trip to Peru to go climb Mount Machu Picchu. I was so excited. The day before the call I had bought my hiking boots and my stick and everything that I needed. I had my tickets and my flight, everything. I remember sitting on the couch thinking 'Oh no, what about Mount Machu Picchu.'''
''I said to the guy, 'I don't know, man. I just booked my trip to go to Peru and climb a mountain.' And the guy was stunned. He goes 'Dilana, did you hear what I just said? This is 'Supernova.' I said 'OK, can I call you back?' I was really torn. I was sitting with like a balance scale in my hand. Then I was like, this is my last chance. I don't know if I'll ever get this kind of opportunity again, so I went for it, and I'm glad I did.''
Dilana finished second to Lukas Rossi and is now the opening act on the ''Rock Star: Supernova'' tour. In doing so, she follows in the path of rocker Marty Casey, the runner-up in the first series of the reality show, ''Rock Star: INXS.'' Casey's band opened for ''INXS'' on their tour.
For Dilana, the path to the tour has had impressive peaks and hugely frustrating valleys. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1972, she left its ongoing violence at age 16. She first traveled and toured as part of a duo before settling in the Netherlands, where she became a star. She released a CD, ''Wonderfool,'' in 2000 that spawned five hit singles and made her one of the busiest and best paid rock performers in the region. But her dream was always to make it big in the United States.
In 2001, after marrying an American, she moved to Houston with big plans to form a new band that would rocket up the charts. Instead none of the bands she formed meshed. But Dilana, who also split from her husband, was nothing if not imaginative and resourceful. She decided to start what she referred to as a ''one-chick'' acoustic show in which she dressed as several iconic female rockers, including Janis Joplin and Tina Turner, and performed their songs, while sprinkling in a few originals.. The show became a hit around Texas and Louisiana, and Dilana was making a good living.
But ultimately she felt unfulfilled. ''I felt like I was doing a Vegas/Broadway kind of show more than anything else.''
Now Dilana might get the career she wants. She is touring with Supernova, working on a CD and presenting her normally hard-rocking music in a much different setting — acoustic with recorded drum tracks.
''My show is stripped down totally because my band can't be here for this tour. Production-wise it's just not possible,'' says Dilana, who is joined on the tour by two guitarists, including fellow ''Rock Star: Supernova'' contestant Magni Asgeirsson.
''If we're going to stand acoustic we wanted to do something with a little change. I'm doing a couple of covers because that's what the public wants. Unfortunately we still have to brainwash them into loving our original music. So I do a couple of covers, just purely acoustic, and when I do my originals, we kick in the little drumbeats.''
