This is for the Storm fans in the group! Saw this show tonight. I loved it! I guess I was meant to go to this show alone as every time I had someone lined up to go with me--something happened and they couldn't go. Someone said Mercury is retrograde. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. But how can you line up 4 different people to go to a show with you and have them all have emergencies or reasons not to go--one after another? I was starting to get a complex and wonder if I should go to the show. I'm glad I decided to go on my own. Storm has that bawdy quality of Bette Midler in her Divine Miss M days (okay some of you young'uns are going --what? But others of you may know what I mean.) She's certainly more beautiful than Bette but there's that amazing voice with the pardon the pun--ballsy presence. For those who do not like the "f" word or frank talk about sex, this would not be the show for you. Storm has an amazing range both in the songs she performs and in the notes she can hit and the emotions she brings to the songs. Rockstar was not a good vehicle for her in that I think Television took away half of her persona because she was censored in what one can say on TV. I won't even try to do the set list--but she opened with I want You to Want Me from Cheap Trick, She did covers made her own interspersed with originals. "I Want You to Die" "Beautiful" and of course "Ladylike." She did some rocking, some ballads, A lullaby (which she co-wrote and said it started out as a song about a killer who was cutting up his victim and singing the song but that it eventually became a lullaby--too funny. She said she was into CSI and Forensic stuff). She did a really funny take on I Honestly Love You (Yes from Grease ala Olivia Newton John) but turned it into a stalker song. All in all she played about an hour and fifteen minutes with one encore. Molly Malone's room is small and I don't think it was a sell out. But is was a good sized crowd. Dilana and Lukas were there. Storm pulled Dilana on stage during Ladylike. Dilana danced with her and sang a little bit. You could see a real friendship between the two as Dilana turned to the crowd like a proud Mama and said--isn't she just awesome? Lukas walked past me to say hi to Storm backstage but I didn't see him again nor did he come on stage with Storm. As I said I really enjoyed the evening even going solo. Hope those of you who love Storm get a chance to see her soon! wow cj! sounds like it was a really great time...even though you ended up alone- and btw- mercury in retrograde will cause all kinds of horrible foul-ups. trust me. great review and thanks for sharing-

That's a great review, to be honest I wasn't amazed by Storm, sort of liked her but not a huge fan on RS:SN, but last night (yes, we're a long way behind you on TV shows!) I got to see the interview on Ellen and it totally changed my mind about her. I'm a huge Queen fan & generally hate anyone singing their songs, but her version of "We Are the Champions" made me have goosebumps.

Loved her on Ellen's show and also when she interviewed Lukas (they were both cute and very funny.) Glad Storm got to perform, but sad that Lukas couldn't. Hope to see/hear lots more of both of them - oh, and that Aussie guy, too. Thanks cjspas for posting the Molly Malone link. Hmmm - she looked pretty "ladylike" in those pix. ;D

Yay! Her show is on Saturday! I am very much looking forward to this. We now have 80 "Storm Troopers" attending the pre-show party/dinner. INCLUDING STORM LARGE HERSELF and her b/f Davey. I am driving down to Portland at 11:30am on Saturday. The drive is about 3 hours and that will give me time to check into my waterfront hotel room and get freshened up and then head to the venue where the party is. The action starts at 5:30.

Awesome cj, I think I might be going solo to this, and I am down as Rockbeast (plus two)....hmmm
have you been to the Crystal Ballroom before? I heard a rumor that its all standing room with only a few tables. I dont know if that is true, since I have never been there.
One good thing, my hotel is 1.04 miles from the venue.........

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I am home in one piece, I feel like total shit am hungover as HELL. and am exhausted beyond words. Shouts out to my dear partners in crime, Mr and Mrs Lovehandles and their special street teaming buddy for the wonderful hospitality in Portland. And also thanks to chanrve (you know why babes). cbda- it was GREAT to finally meet you, you and your aunt as sooooooo cool! God I cannot BELIEVE how drunk I was, when we were singing LH's accapella in that upstairs bar at the top of my lungs. : : Storm and her b/f Davey showed up at the pre party bash at Ringlers and I got my picture taken with her and then another one of her and Lovehandles and myself. I was a dum dum and forgot my memory card at home and so my camera was worthless. Luckily, someone was there with a great little digital camera. I cannot wait to see the partying pictures!! Woo Hoo, Storm is a SWEETHEART. She is more beautiful in person. I bought the Storm and the Balls CD "Hangin' with the Balls" It has 12 songs on it. She incorporates two songs (covers) into one song and mixes it up a bit and its really sort of bizzare, like this jazz rock fusion style. My fave part of the show was when she belted out "Ladylike" after the first set. I was singing and bopping to the beat..... I tried cell certing Keshet, but I dont think it worked, lousy connection inside the venue. So I didnt bother trying anyone else. Need to sleep.
