Hey, guys! I have a little site for Marty fans. I have some avatars/icons and other Marty graphics that anyone can use. Just please don't alter them or claim them as your own. Here's the link: www.geocities.com/marty_casey_rocks/icons.htmlI only have a few up right now. I'm adding them as I can. I hope you like them.

To set up your avatar: First, you need to save the avatar to your computer. Then you need to upload it to your own web storage site (like www.photobucket.com Photobucket accounts are free and pretty easy to set up.) Now, look up to the top of the board. Under the "MartyCasey.org: A Marty Casey Fan Site" Banner, in little writing, click on "profile," (right beside "logout"). Next to "Member's Bio," click on the link called "Modify Profile." Scroll down to the section called "Personal Information." In the field called "Avatar URL" put the link to the avatar. (At photobucket it gives it to you under the photo in the picture album in a field called "Url.") For "Avatar Width" and "Avatar Height" put 100 in each field. (That's what all mine are and most others are too.) "Personal Text" is whatever you want it to say under your avatar. Click "Modify Profile" at the bottom of the page and your avatar is set up. You can also set up other features in this section like signatures and website links. Hope this helps!

Thanks Cejee, I'm sure I can find it now but the next problem I am having is saving the avatar from that site to my computer. I right clicked on the av I want, but the "save target as" or "save picture" or whatever is shaded so I can't select it. Can I simply use the link from the properties on that photo (Ie: from wherever you have it saved to?)

I set up a thread in the creativity vault for avatars and graphics questions. I thought it would be a good place to keep everything together. Check it out here: martycasey.proboards49.com/index.cgi?board=vaultIf anyone else can make avatars or other graphics, please share with us. If you haven't made them before and think you can't, give it a try! All you need is a graphics program and some inspiration. Marty & the Lovehammers give the inspiration, so....

Ceeje, Please explain what hotlinking is, so I don't do it as per your instruction. Thanks! Tina A Hotlinking is when you link directly to someone's graphics at their webhost, instead of uploading it in your own web photo album (like www.photbucket.com) or website. Website are only allowed so much bandwidth per month and if it is exceeded the site could be shut down. Does that help? P.S. I've added some more avatars in the Creativity Vault Avatar thread: martycasey.proboards49.com/index.cgi?board=vault&action=display&thread=1127665522

Ceeje, When you get a chance help me out with the Marty avators. I am dense and lost. I got the photobucket acct. and I saved a couple of your avators on my computer and I'm lost from there. I don't see any url links at all. I am doing something wrong? I have the pics saved in my pictures. Is this ok? I'm not sure what to do next . Please help. Thanks Here are some step by step directions: After you have the avatar(s) saved to your computer, you need to upload them to your Photobucket account. This is what your photo album will look like: Click on the "Browse" button. Another screen will pop up. Find where you saved the avatar on your computer. Click OK on the pop-up screen. Now click the "Submit" button. This will add your avatar to your album. You can repeat this process for as many avatars as you like. Once your avatar(s) is in your Photobucket album, you can use the Photobucket URL for your avatar. This is how your Photobucket album will look: There are three fields with code. The first, "Url," is what you will need to add your avatar to your profile. (Check the earlier post in this thread about adding the avatar to this board.) The "Img" field is how you would add an image to the message body. I hope this helps.
