Ever notice when Marty sings "Lithium" and he goes into the first chorus (which makes my heart throb), and the camera pans over to INXS and you can see how absolutely thrilled they are with how he sang that first note... it's like a reflection of what WE all feel when Marty sings.
Anyone else having total Marty withdrawals?! WE MISS YOU, MARTY!

OMG...Lithium is probably my very favorite of all of his performances. I bet I have watched it a thousand times. I need to get it on a loop so I can play it over and over. Yeah, INXS was really impressed when he broke into that chorus. So was I . What a rush it was to hear him sing that!!

Lithium was when I noticed I was really hooked. I missed first few shows but it soon turned into the Marty show for me.

Anyone else having total Marty withdrawals?! WE MISS YOU, MARTY! Lyn Count me in on having Marty withdrawals!! At work today I had a quick thought go through my mind "Great, today is Monday and tomorrow I'll get to see him sing" and then reality set in I was just so excited every Tuesday to see the awesome performances that came from him! Every time he sang was special and captivating----it was like he pulled me into the song with him. Now THAT'S talent! Everyone talks about what their favorite performance was, but honestly I can't pick one because each one was so endearing and heartfelt. He poured himself into his music and it showed. He took us all along on an Awesome ride every Tuesday and I miss it !

I love to watch the Lithium encore. He so transforms into the song that he has this wild look on his face. Then at the end, check him out when he has his arm up in the air and his eyes shoot left. Gives me chills. He looks almost insane. Then Dave Navarro says, "Good job buddy" and he snaps out of it and just flashes that brilliant smile. Yea, Yea, I've watched too many times, I know.

I've watched "Creep" I don't know HOW many times. I LOVE the beginning when he's giving the camera a soft, sweet look. Then, at the end he transforms when he's screaming. After the song, I love it when he walks over for his review and he has this boyish smile on his face. Makes my heart melt.

I'm pretty diverse when it comes to music, but have always loved alt. rock. Just now, I had an opportunity to hear Lithium by Nirvana again. WOW, did that suck. I am seriously godsmacked. Kurt's voice....?? Don't even know that I'd call it mediocre. The whole thing was horrid. And I have an awesome stereo set-up and perfect hearing (per a recent test). There is only ONE version of Lithium now. Man, Marty, what a song stealer. You know, I said that right after you sang it on the show, but thought there was the possibility that I was just over excited. NOT the case. Way to go Marty.

I heard it too. I got excited when I heard the beginning until I DIDN'T hear Marty's voice. LMAO I just had to turn it off.

It's funny, 'cause I always disliked Nirvana's music and didn't care for the song"Lithium". But when Marty sang it, he made me love it!

I was never a huge fan of Nirvana. I was becoming a big fan of Marty's, and this performance pushed me over to no return!!

The first defining "Marty Moment" for me was Lithium. As PPoD said, anything by Nirvana is sacred. I still miss Kurt. In Week 3 Marty grabbed me by the jugular and never let go. His performance was spine tingling. In the entire series of RS:INXS, no one did justice to a Nirvana song - only Marty. I can't give MWSTW to Jordis because that's a Bowie original. The Lithium performance made me sit up and take notice of Marty - and he didn't demand my respect, he earned it.

All popular rock artists will now be glad that Rockstar is over and Marty Casey can't steal their songs and make them his and even better than the originals! He is just so amazing!

I did not start watching RSINXS until the 8th week (not an INXS fan). It was Marty's performances that got me hooked. I had to download all of the songs that I could from MSN and was so impressed with all of the songs. I can not stop playing them. I love that this site has the videos so that we may also watch the performances. I wish I could have seen the whole series. Fingers crossed on the DVD or perhaps VH1 could have a marathon sometime. The more you listen the more you really appreciate all of his music. I am so glad we all found Marty and his LHs.

i'm soooo glad someone brought this up... i wrote about this on the Lovehammers messageboard when asked to pick my favorite Marty performance and i figured i'd share this with you so you'd understand the initial catalyst of the obsession. "Although it was tough, i had to go with Marty's cover of Lithium. Because that's when i began to worship him. I wasn't really into Marty at the time, i was mostly a Jordis, Ty and Brandon fan and watched the show to snark on everyone else. I am definitely not a fan of Nirvana covers (i'm still emotionally scarred from Papa Roach's Smells Like Teen Spirit about 7 years ago) and Lithium is one of the greatest songs ever written... ever so when they announced that he was gonna perform it i was pretty outraged and freaked out. I was actually crowching in the corner with my hands over my eyes praying that he wouldn't screw it up... yeah i'm a drama queen i know. Then he started and i was like WOAH! WTF?!. sometimes i still can't believe it. no imitating Kurt, no making it crappy with a new "unique" trip-hop arrangement (i.e. JD's Come As You Are). No painfully emo interpretation (urrgh h.s. bands) No crappy half-assed screams, just simple, dirty, perfection. I voted for him about 50 times that night. I've been worshipping the dude ever since." ...yeah that's basically my Lithium story but i did leave out Dave Navarro's face lighting up with the utmost shock and reverence and that just solidified it for me. That was absolutely the only performance of a Nirvana cover that didn't make Kurt roll in his grave... in fact... i think it might've made him a li'l proud. ::pours some peach kool-aid for my homies:: ♥sheria.
