Agreed...I think all of his songs were done better than the originals......except for WYWH...I love Floyd and Waters..it would be sacrilege for me to say he performed it better than Roger...although it was awesome.... One thing I need to know from all of you is..... Do you think that in order to stay as popular as he is now that the Lovehammers style of play (from past cd's....) is going to need to change? Let's face it....we keep talking about the songs he performed on RS.....not the songs from their two existing cd's..... In my opinion the next CD from the Lovehammers will make them....or break them..... Any thoughts on that?

YES STILETTO, MARTY MUST TAKE WHAT HE'S LEARNED FROM ROCKSTAR AND APPLY IT TO NEXT LOVEHAMMER CD. IT'S A MUCH BIGGER BALLGAME NOW AND HE MUST NOW TAKE THE LOVEHAMMERS IN THE DIRECTION THEY NEED TO GO. I THINK FANS EXPECT TO SEE MORE OUT OF THE LOVEHAMMERS NOW THAT MARTY HAS STEPPED UP HIS GAME. IT IS CRUCIAL THAT THEY DON'T LOSE THE MOMENTUM THAT MARTY STARTED.

Since I had never heard of Lovehammers before discovering Marty on RS, I've just discovered their music. The songwriting is very good and Marty's improved vocal control would make this material totally killer IMO. Marty commented on how much he learned about songwriting, not just performing, from the experience. LH have been together 15 years. It's awesome to think about the dynamic this will bring to the group. The've proven themselves to be creative. Their new-found synergy will no doubt deliver some incredible original material.
I think they should include some of his better covers, as well. I think Creep is his most powerful performance, and I'm sure they'll include these covers in their live performances, as well. I saw a photo of him doing Mr. Brightside at their recent concert.
I can't wait for the new CD and can't wait to see them perform live.

stiletto I appreciate your honesty in voicing the thing about the LH style. I did think that but was afraid to say out loud in case I get boos over here. But yes, I agree and frankly, I do like the songs Marty sang on RS better than what I heard over the LH website. But I'm open to listening to the LH albums if only to see how much they'll improve on the next one.
I think Marty writes well and his intesity when he performs is really arresting. I'm sure the LH will only get better; the guys look like they really know what they are doing and I really hope that they don't get waylaid by the trappings of sudden international success.

I am listening to him do Creep right now. Gives me shivers. I would love him to record it and I agree it needs to be done on video so we can see his beautiful eyes.

I believe in voicing your opinion and discussing things as they occur...not sitting on them waiting for tension to build....if you do that it gets out of hand...solve the problem right then and there...... As long as you hndle yourself with maturity, tact, and empathy for the other persons point of view and feelings......you will be alright...... Never be afraid to say what you need to......just do it the right way...... Sorry....am I preaching?......

I agree somewhat. There are some great songs on both of the LoveHammers albums that I wouldn't change. However, I only have the snippets they have on their website....waiting for both albums I recently purchased. I have a feeling their new album whenever it comes out will show the Old and New Marty. Can't wait

When I was voting for Marty I had mixed feelings about Marty winning. Even though I kept voting for Marty, I thought that JD would win and wanted Marty to be free and go back to LHs. There was a part of me though that was a little scared that if he went back to the LHs, he would abandon the performances from RS. Would we get the more eyecontact, more of his fantastic singing voice, place the screams exactly were needed and make them so much more powerful? ( e.g.end of Creep and Don't Change etc)... I don't think that we will be disappointed from the comments made about his performance at Tweeter. Marty really wants this band to succeed and I think he will do what it takes to make it happen.

Just add me as another who agrees, whole heartedly! I'm not much of a fan of Radiohead at all, but Marty made me love "Creep" I'd love to hear him sing the whole thing on his upcoming CD!
In fact, there are three songs (I love everything he sang) that put forth incredible moments for me: Creep, Lithium and I Alone.

I've found that I really love what I've heard of the lovehammers music. I'm waiting for the cds to come in but I've listened to the snippets on the site and there are like ten full songs you can hear and download on garageband.com. If you want to hear them just go to the site click on search and type in lovehammers and it takes you right there. Someone on the msn boards said they kept getting popups but I didn't get any. Just thought I'd warn ya. Rebecca

Stilleto: I agree about Waters. Some things are just sacred in music. Did you hear that Marty said on the Byrd morning show at WLUP (10/4) that Roger Waters had called him to say that he did a good job singing WYWH? That's gotta be some honor for Marty.
