Another great rock band that is still together is Def Leppard. Saw them in Austin TX in 1983. They were in their early 20's and already headlining the tour. Saw them a few months ago in Dallas, celebrating their 25th year as a band, and they were still awesome, (Pour some sugar on me in the name of love!). And they've been through the death of one of their guitarists and their drummer losing one of his arms in a car accident.
Off the top of my head, can't think of any other bands who have continued despite losing their singer.

I guess we could throw Lynyrd Skynyrd in there when Ronnie Van Zandt died and his brother took over vocals.

I very much enjoyed this interview too. I loved that Marty came prepared, armed with his own list of bands with replacement lead singers. I have thought about this a while and wonder who all was on his list. Let's try to put together a list. We can list the ones mentioned on the radio show and then lets try to add more. The Doors with Ian Astbury Queen with Paul Rodgers INXS AC/DC Van Halen Genesis Pink Floyd Jefferson Starship Fleetwood Mac (I think they went through several lead singers throughout the decades....especially early on) Who can add more to this list? I thought of another band to add to the list: The Doobie Brothers Michael MacDonald took over when Tom Johnston left and Michael, as usual, did an outstanding job with them. He does well on his own now.
